CD Player Problem

Hi guys, I'm new here.

I have a 07 Civic EX Coupe.Basically, I've had a CD in the player for several months as I never bothered to take it out. I usually use the Aux anyways and the car is driven maybe 10k km a year.

Now, I hear a "spinning type of noise" from the player as soon as I put the disc in or when I have the volume at 0. However, I don't notice anything when the volume is loud.I've tried a lens cleaning CD, but that didn't help.

Anyone know what the problem might be?Thank you!

Yep disc still plays and I am getting audio. The cd player just makes a "spinning" type of noise when the volume is really low or off. There is no noise when radio or aux is used.

Have you tried taking out the head unit and moving it around? Possibly something has moved around in there, Might pop out. Might of worn out the spring that helps move the CD in and out of the head unit from constant pressure on it? Maybe use a can of air and blow it in there threw the cd slot?

No idea, Long as it still read's the cd and plays music I wouldn't worry about it. What brand headunit is it?

yeah ive never heard of something like that happening. but more than likely it is something with the disc spinning. it could possibly be spinning but not completely horizontal. not sure but I would take it apart and see if anything looks out of place in it

Yeah that does make sense. Any idea which kind of place I would need to take it into?

i would say to do it yourself only if u know what ur doing. but if not try and take to a local shop that specializes in audio and explain what it happening and see if he can recommend something for you
