if you have a check engine light on does your vtec work??? ive heard that when you got a check liight on it doesnt work?
Glad i could help!
He is trying to still my mad credit for it!i didnt know you did but thanks! lol
If there's not enough oil pressure, Vtec wont engage. Think about it, Vtec activates at 5500rpm on the y8's. At 5500rpm, you need adequate oil pressure just to run the engine without issues. Let alone for added valve timing.based on oil pressure more details???
This is not true. Not trying to call you out just saying, I have a CEL on my 96 EX for a downstream o2 sensor an my vtec engages just fine. It's clearly audible. For those too lazy to search... Vtec is engages based on oil pressure, rpm, and vehicle speed. All three have to be alligned, so to say, for Vtec to engage. If you have a CEL on, the previous 3 paramaters wont matter. It will not engage.
My GSR had a CEL and still screamed vtec down the highway no prob. This is not true. Not trying to call you out just saying, I have a CEL on my 96 EX for a downstream o2 sensor an my vtec engages just fine. It's clearly audible.

Fix your problems and stop complaining. Your car is as crappy as you'll let it be. If the srs light is on take it to the dealer and get it checked out. If you're having idle problems troubleshot them. If your CEL is illuminated, pull the code and see what it's throwing, then go from there.thats the thing to people say you can hear vtec i dont on my car, and i feel like my car has no power what so ever!!
at idle it bogs somtimes like its guna die, srs lights on, check light is on with misfire codes, i feel like my car just runs like complete s**t! i hate it!
