EK9 Type-R ECU

Hey guys I just bought a project motor/tranny swap.

So far i've found that the head has type-r cams and the bottom end is an oem b16b type-r motor. Came with the type-r ecu as well.
Was wondering what after market tuning I can run with this ecu. Hondata didn't seem to have an option for this particular ecu on their website.

And what would you guys recommend doing with this project? I want it to run nice when I drop it in, don't want it to run lean or anything and would like to be able to tune the car with future mods.

ECU SERIAL ENDING IN PCT-J11

Thanks in advanced guys!=)

Just use Hondata S300 in an american ECU. It being jdm or not won't matter when you have a fully customizable engine management system in place.

Well what is the intent for the car/ motor? Track, or just regular daily driving? What are your power goals?

Thank you! I'm new to the B Series scene, so many different ECU's and ECU combinations its a bit over whelming at times. But that makes perfect sense! Would you recommend the P28/S300 combo or does it matter? As long as its a USDM plug and play ECU correct? I'm pretty sure I have an OBDII harness, if that makes a difference, because that what the EK9-R ECU uses, right?
Thanks again man, really appreciate it.

More than anything want to be absolutely, positively sure that my motor is running healthy. I'm still trying to identify what cams the head came with, trying to make sure its authentic CTR head. The block is definitely from a Type-R though.
I know Honda shared the PR3-2/3 head with many different models, never understood that.

K-Series is so much simpler!

Hondata is over priced stick with what the local tuner tunes with. See if you can find Neptune or even chrome. Take a pic or post up the stamp on the head.....all of them.

Well I have a K Series and and my friends have k series as well, and one has a S2000. For out motors, Hondata is almost the only option, and all people use (K-PRO/FlashPro) AEM is a secondary option for most this community.
But i'm so open for anything that is completely tunable, at a better price. I've heard about Chrome, i'm going to look into these options though, it makes every bit of sense. I'm going to tune my car at Church's Automotive in Wilmington when the time comes, i'll go ahead and give them a call.

As for now, I need to figure out what cams and head I have! Pictures are being upload right now, they will be up shortly. Thanks again all you guys are great!

Just got the head back from the machine shop, it was hot tanked, cleaned, all that good stuff. The pink stuff around the valve is just dye the machine shop used in order to test the condition the valves were in. So what do you guys think? CTR head? Posting pics of the cams in one minute...
