Muffler question

I have a '95 civic, and i was looking into some mufflers for it. I found the Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. Its a universal muffler, so I have to get it welded on at my local muffler shop. I've read really good reviews on it.

My question is, will it sound good even will all the stock exhaust piping? I'm thinking it'll just quiet down the muffler instead of making it sound ricey. And I do not want it to sound ricey. I have the stock piping all the way through.

I'm looking for a deeper tone. Do you think mine will turn out deeper even with a cat?

just an exhaust? you say that as if an upgraded exhaust system isnt a performance enhancer. Getting just a muffler is the exact definition of rice. it will sound like a pissed off bumble bee. the only way your gonna get a good deep tone is if you spend $ because in the car world you get exactly what you pay for. you take the cheap route and it will sound cheap, spend money an get a high quality performance exhaust that sounds great. but its your car not mine. id never just upgrade the muffler. just my 2 cents.
