aint really complaining! more just saying, and dealers are to expensive but your right my "car is as crappy as ill let it be" good choice of words! but motivational! thanks
I thought the oil pressure was actually what moved the cams over?If there's not enough oil pressure, Vtec wont engage. Think about it, Vtec activates at 5500rpm on the y8's. At 5500rpm, you need adequate oil pressure just to run the engine without issues. Let alone for added valve timing.
He meant the oil pressure is what engages the secondary rockers to lock them to the vtec lobe of the cam.No, the camshafts are ran by the timing belt!
I would honestly be less worried about vtec engagement, and more about the missfire you're having across almost EVERY cylinder. That's bad, man. Really bad. Troubleshoot that, make sure you're timing is good after (TDC from dizzy to cam), double check oil level and oil pressure, and lastly confirm that your ECU/Wiring Harness is good. If all those add up, you should be hitting vtec normally.okay welll the first night i bought my car i is when im troubles started with my check light coming on and flashing and ever since then ive had missfire codes left and right, i think on cylinders 1, 3, and 4 they were missing.
like stated above I would worry about you misfires .okay welll the first night i bought my car i is when im troubles started with my check light coming on and flashing and ever since then ive had missfire codes left and right, i think on cylinders 1, 3, and 4 they were missing.
Well said.. exactly what I meant. He meant the oil pressure is what engages the secondary rockers to lock them to the vtec lobe of the cam.
