Most, if not all, aftermarket wheels have tapered lug nut seat types while the Honda OEM seat type is ball/acorn. The wheels I have are aftermarket Honda replica's which surprisingly have the OEM ball seat. But I'm 99.99% sure that Rota's have tapered seats.

thanks john! btw the rims i'm getting have a +10 offset and a 57.1 hub bore. you think i'll run into any installation issues? they say it will fit civics, but no specification of what year model.

Depending on how low you are, you may have rubbing issues with a +10 offset wheel. Honda OEM wheels are somewhere around +40 to +45 so +10 is somewhat "low". The OEM hub bore size is 56.1mm. I honestly don't know much about this type of thing though... But I don't think I'd worry about 1mm. Maybe if it was a larger gap. I'd do some research though and look into it just in case. 1mm isn't much but hey, you never know.

thanks again john. My car has a subtle drop. the fender hovers just above the tire. i can fit my fingers between the fender/tire still but I have to poke them in at an upward angle. do you think i might need spacers? +10 means the tire would poke outwards rather than inwards? hence possibly running into rubbing amongst the fender?
