car sputters or hesitates when pushing on the gas when at temp

I have a wierd issue that seems to only happen when my car is at temp. I am at a stop light and accelerate and it sputters or hesitates and sounds almost like backfiring or missing, then the car slowly goes. It will also occur when trying to speed up in traffic.

The car has a new cap and rotor and plugs and wires arent that old. I did recently change the distributor could that have caused it?

I think I have this same problem. Does it happen when you floor it, and it just seems like theres no power.. and you go nowhere but theres tons of engine noise?

try changing the fuel filter as well.

nope not it sorry, I step on the gas and car sounds as if its missing
