I'm in the process of building my d16z6. This week my 75.5 vitaras, custom length rods, acl bearings, arp head studs should be arriving. I'll be taking my block to the machine shop to have it bored out. My goal is a potential of 450hp, 350 on pump. what would be a good turbo, would a t3/t4 be able to handle? The turbos ive been looking at from turbonetics, precision holset they seem to peak at 400. I plan on doing head work after i get the rest of the turbo components out the way.

Just so you know. 400hp is A LOT for a single cam. It's doable. But it will cost you more then it's worth unles you are in love with this car. And realize if you go for that power you will brake stuff. For that kind of HP ou will need a full build all internals injectors bored ect and that's gonna have to be a top end turbo meaning you would have turbo lag early on and it would not be good for cornering or Dailey driving. If this is all ok with you I suggest you start reading a lot of builds and such.

Why is it not good for daily driving. Maybe with a shitty tune. As for turbo lag it's probably better that way for normal daily driving. With a good ball bearing turbo you will have the power you want plus good spool up time. Also with everything being done to the motor it should not take it long for it to spool anyways.

^ im with this guy
there would be no real problem dd ing it as long as the tune is good, but the heart of any turbo build is the tune so it goes without being said that if you expect anything out of a turbo build espeially one with those goals then it has to have a great tune.
and op can you get high octane gas consistnly around you if not then go for your goal on pump gas if you are going to come close to it being a dd.
if you have another car and its just gonna be a track car and you can get the gas around you then go for the other.
Go to d series.org and search on here and read up on d series turbo build
Also you could try and get in touch with got traction he is a member on here and knows just about everything you need to know about turbo builds.
