sluggish

so today i noticed my 98 ex coupe is a bit sluggish. i try to shift around 2700 rpms to save gas, but once i shift up my car feels extremely sluggish, untill i hit like 2500 rpms then it feels like it all of sudden catches on. what can cause this? its stock 5speed

when was the last full tune up and oil change done?
ant other mechcanical problems or cel?

Mess with the exhaust any? I know i had felt that lag when i had an exhaust leak

Your shift point is far too low, even for MPG.


Get your timing checked. I had the same issue until I got it timed correctly.

Agreed on both! I shift right around 3k for optimum fuel economy. Anything lower, and I'm bogging it pretty bad.
My timing slips occasionally and causes this same issue (particularly when I run my A/C!), so timing would be another great start.

check the timming
if it hasnt been done recently do a full tune up on it plugs,wires,fuel filter clean out the air filter or replace it. and if it was mine and it had been a while i would seafoam it or run some fuel system cleaner through it.
