Synchro job/general stress

Well, i feel like i ended up buying a lemon
because ive just had to fix alot of small stupid stuff, but now its this...



I took my car where I have a bit of a warranty on my transmission. 3rd gear doesnt catch.
First off, i need a new clutch. Which I already knew.

Long story short, the mechanic told me to get all the synchro's changed out. Said it'd cost $950. Thats WITH the clutch job. Said the least my warranty would do is give me a $300 credit.


I'm still learning about cars.
So, is this an okay deal? I felt like it was.
Is it necessary to change out all of them?
Should i even bother shopping around to take it elsewhere?
Anyone in the Chicago area that know any places or work anywhere?

My dad flipped s*** when i told him about the quote lololol.



Edit: Forgot to mention when im in 5th gear and i get my foot off the gas it'll pop out. or if i hit a bad bump.

I'm in the same boat. My 2nd gear synchro is bad and causes it to pop out. I'm just going to pick up a used transmission for cheap and rebuild myself. It'll be cheaper and you'll have a brand new transmission.

then if you find one at a junk yard you can get someone to help you swap it out and now you also have your other tranny that you can learn/work on

What exactly IS the difference(s) between D & B series trannys?
i have a b16a2.

i have a b16a2.

if you have a B series, you will need a B series tranny.

any integra tranny, or 99-00 si tranny will work without modification.
