Just wondering what are some things to do to the interior of my 98 civic coupe to make it look better/nicer.

Yes always search! But to answer the question anyways, try to re- uppolster the headliner, put in new carpet ( black or red), mabey two new seats ( s2000, rsx, Integra, aftermarket), shift knobs, shift boots, LED lights for the overhead light, cluster swap.... the options are endless! ( But what ever you do, DONT paint the dash inserts... they might look cool to you at first, but they will start to look tacky as hell, and even sometimes chip, and look like total crap!...) =)

Here's a thread i've been looking at for the past couple of hours on interiors; not specifically for Civics though but it does have an abundance of 6th gens in it.

I plan on getting 92-96 (4th gen) prelude seats (heard they're incredibly comfortable) and adding in an integra map light (above rear view mirror). Other than that; I'd buy a balanced pwjdm shift knob, double-din player, CTR steering wheel, e-brake w/ armrest and i'm satisfied with my interior.
Here's a picture of the prelude seats in a coupe:

double-din player
How you you plan on putting a double DIN player into your '98 dash?
The one you have pictured is the 99/00 dash, which has room for a double DIN.

That's what I noticed after I posted it; I forgot OP doesn't have a 99/00. Oh well; he can scratch that or go through all the effort of changing the climate control; given that effort, might as well do an S2000 cluster swap as well and full upholstery etc;

I'd sell the '98 and look for a 99/00 instead of going through all that trouble...:lol:
