i think if you found a supercharger for it with intake and exhaust which youd have to do and a tune youd be fine at 200 or more and youd have much more torque then a turbo but the superchargers a few and far between. and i think you ment d16z6. you engine in the mini maybe weights 100 pounds with the trans cuz you only have 33hp. if you put a stock d16z6 in it with the 5spd youd make a good 135 or more hp which would be a LOT for that car.

The engine and trany in the mini weigh about 400 pounds I think. And most came with like 42hp I think. And my civic have the d16y8 I thought it had the z7 (looking it up on wiki) but I'm going to go with the z6 for my mini. I was reading that it would be difficult to get the z6 to 200 with a supercharger.

I think you'd be better off swapping something else in if you want 200whp. Things that come to mind are B20VTEC's and K24/6spd swaps. Dpending on the kind of driving the car will see, you might want to consider all motor over turbo charging. Or maybe not.

I would go with a k series but they are to expensive for my taste. And I want to still get like 30mpg or so highway which I should be able to get with a turboed d16z6. And I have read some stuff on b series and you can't really get the mpg's of a d series.

its really simple because your car only weights like 1500lbs. if you supercharge a d16 in a mini itd be around 200 hp where ad your arounf 150-170 w/ one in a civic. just like when people put k20/24's in civics and make 220 and up with just custom intake and exhaust because the car weights so much less. to be honest id leave it n/a and just put it in and drive it like that for awhile. if you want more then you can worry about it later. but that gonna move with any engine making more power then stock and like i said b/c you would have power to weight on your side you could be around 130-140 whp sine your car is so light and youd save money. and when you go turbo if you did you dont have a big wheel option with it since there like 9 inch tires and you wont do anything but spin through all gears you have to think about being efficient and getitng the power to the ground the bes way with the least amount of power being lost. i rode in a mini like your talking about 4spd and i was suprized at how it moved very much like a go kart. but i can promise you driving one at 120+ mph would be scary and one with a turbo i dont see being vry efficient. some z6 with a zex cam in civics are making 135whp with supporting mods and obv a tune so thatd be about 150ish in a mini which would be a lot. at that point you would leave gt's behind and dont forget you have 5 gears and id get an ex tranny since there gears are shorter then the hx/dx trannys and you shudnt have any problems and youd have a blast but you do have to think about all the variables like tires and suspention and motor mounts and all that. can you tell me why you want a turbo in your mini??? have you driven a shifter kart?? go-kart with a 250cc dirt bike engine if not look up shifter karts on youtube thats how your mini would be with a n/a d16 i promise.. my engine is a y8 and it still pulls fine for me for now in my civic that weigh 1000+ more lbs then your mini and i get 35mpg and 43 highway who needs a hybrid!! HA

I am going to just start with the engine n/a at first and if I want more power I'll add a turbo or supercharger or something. I was just seeing what the best engine would be if I wanted to do that. And thanks for all your info you have been a big help! I have a y8 in my civic and only get like 35 highway. How do you get do much? And what engine do you recommend? I would like to stick with d series because they are cheaper.
