Starting to look for a motor and with JDM Engine Corp. right across town it not too hard finding one. The dilemma is that i was comparing prices and there only a 100 difference between them so im not sure which one will come out most worth it at the end for the less amount of money, the k20a or b20z. Heres a link http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ptd/3094555117.html. i drive a 97 civic

the b20 would be cheaper overall.

You'll be spending some time swapping in a K20. The B20 will be easier and cheaper. If you go B20V then you can have a pretty quick car.

K-Series have come a long way since they first came out. They're cheaper and easier to swap in now. But I'd imagine parts would be cheaper for the B. If you can afford it without any problems, I'd go for the K personally.

I have a B20, with all the money I spent I should of gotten a K series. A bone stock K is still cooler than a built B.

Pretty much this^ Cuz if you decide to start building the K later, you'll have way more to work with. Of course if you just plan to boost it than either will work.

Excuse me I meant WHEN you decide to build the K later lol

any ball park figures on a full swap? i calculated 900 for b20 with the long block, ls tranny, ls mani, ecu, mounts and harness which is do able for me. Id buy the cheaper, by cheaper i mean just the basics, just to get it started then start building it. How much on top of the 700 would i be putting in for just the k20 > EJ swap essentials

I wont even use numbers....ill just use a parts list to make it work.

ep3 or base rsx transmission
flywheel
clutch and pressure plate
rsx-s or integra type R ecu
hondata/AEM EMS/or wiring
swap engine mounts (which would already put you over the B20 swap in price)
interior conversion harness or custom wire it yourself
K swap axles / or Karcepts 36mm hubs and RSX base model axles
swap radiator or custom weld mounting brackets
swap radiator hoses or custom make hoses to fit
coolant temp switch and fan switch
aftermarket fuel rail
fuel pressure regulator
custom fuel lines
rsx shifter box and shifter cables (and cut your floor to fit it) or the expensive hybrid-racing shift box
a kswap header
test pipe to mate to your exhaust / or custom exhaust

:D

K swaps can be cheap, but that "cheap" is being compared to buying something like a really fresh JDM b18C complete swap. The cheapest way to get a kswap is to buy one from someone who has finished a swap already
