More power out my ls vtec

I have done research but havent found anything on it. I am new to the honda game and bought a 2000 honda civic ek hatch with a ls vtec motor for cheap. Its a N/A motor, Now from what the guy told me it has a b16 head with ctr internals, it has a b18b1 block from a 94 integra, it has 11:1 nippon pistons, skunk2 intake manifold, skunk2 70mm tb, aem fuel rail, password jdm intake, and a b16 tranny s4c, dc sport headers, yonaka exhaust w/ test pipe, and a chipped p28.

Now my question is how can I get more power? I took it to a friend and put it on his dyno and it was pushing 181hp to the flywheel, 163whp, and 161lbs of torque. My friend said that I should be pushing more power and believes that something is holding it back. Doesnt know what it could be until he tears it apart. From what I was told was my vtec solenoid probably isnt holding because of the oil line that runs back into the head, or my cams need to be dialed.

Any suggestions? I know I might get bashed one here from some of the forums I had read but I could really use the help. Thanks!!

you didn't list it so im guessing you don't have aftermarket injectors? some bigger injectors might help it a bit. Also verify that all the parts are in there such as the ctr cams. Have you ever thought about going with boost?

Better Cams if you're still on crappy b16 Cams.

I made more whp than that on stock ls pistons with gsr head.

Hp doesn't mean faster, torque means faster. But check your timing. If you can post your dyno sheet, the dyno graph will show the power curve. Was it constant?

not necessarily true. Plenty of small block Chevy's used to roast torquier big blocks.

The torque output is pretty high for what you have, but that air intake could be swapped for more top.end power, port matching the intake manifold if you haven't would help. Aggressive cams will probably be throat beneficial upgrade besides boost. There are tons of ways to get more power out of this

2slo4u- Yea they are stock injectors. I have also noticed that it was a shitty swap job done in the car. Looks like it has 2 harnesses that were spliced together. Would that be a factor? I thought about boost but not sure if its something I wanna go with.

death the kid- What cams would you suggest along with adjustable cam gears?

b16lewis- Got ya, I will check the timing. I just didnt understand why the hp and torque is side by side. usually hp is higher then torque. For example the b16b is pushing out 186hp with 118lbs torque thats why I was surprised and confused. I also understand my motor isnt a ctr motor. Yea it was constant steady increase especially when vtec engaged. I will post the sheet here shortly.

child- What do you mean by air intake swapped for top end power?

Once again thanks for all the help, I know its difficult to figure this out without looking at the motor. I do appreciate all the input you guys have given me so far.

I'm talking about just switching toa cold air intake with a velocity stack. It has it's positives and negatives to it just like most modifications do, but it would definitely increase your max power output.

if that thing has stock b16 cams in there then gsr cams but type R's at the minimum is what Id swap to if on a budget. I Have s2t2's(which is actually too much for my engine.. BUT B16 CAMS are weaksauce. pro1's or tuner 1's would be decent upgrade past type r cams if you want to start there. do you know if it has b16a or b16b cams in it ?

And b16b's suck too. Hp/liter is all they're good for
