I was wondering if anybody has done it? Would the cf tape stick to the pu lip and how would it look? the previous owner of my sedan had a custom paintjob on it and itd be near impossible for me to paintmatch, and I dont like stickerbombing so I thought of trying cf tape. It sounds cheap but hey , its a civic, aesthetics are generally cheap unlike VIP cars.

it will look like a sticker, looks nothing like the real thing. Get a OEM lip and a good shop can paint match anything, just will cost you, but at least it will look good

When I saw your username, I was expecting more of a post like:
"Just try it out, take a chance" lol. Well that's true, but I want to play around with some replica stuff for now and keep my cosmetics on a budget, then when I find my comfort zone on what look I want, i'll upgrade to genuine products. Like, drag or rota rims for now, then get the real wheels, replica lips, then get the real lip and re-paint my whole car. I was even thinking about retrofitting some 5th gen 'lude mirrors and just sticking some CF vinyl just to play around. Like I said, just experimenting until I will re-paint the whole car with genuine products.

I have used it, picked up a sheet a while back of the real 3M Dinoc (make sure you get the 3M stuff not some cheaper off brand) and while it looks ok I have real CF parts and it didnt look anything close to it. I even tried to clear coat it to see if I could make it more realistic, just turned out far to shiny. I mean I say go for it, I have a OEM front lip that I have spare (i know spare OEM front lips lol) and I am currently going to cover it in real CF fabric and then put resin on it. It just takes a lot of patience to do it correctly and go slow should turn out ok.

Too bad i'm not out near that way I could swing by and help lol I have been to the Philippines a few times and had a layover in Guam

oh okay, now that advice helps!. Wow, post a picture when you do, i'd like to see that as it sounds great!

Aha, you notice. Yeah it's a shame I live so far from the good sales; even in hawaii would satisfy me, was actually thinking about shipping over a Civic hatch from hawaii at one point til I settled with my sedan.

Just save money and do it right the first time. Y waste money on fake parts only to upgrade later?

Figure out what u want now. Save for it and then youre out less money in the long run and will have legit parts from the get go.

Done once. Done right...

I said it's experimenting. What if I get the original/genuine product and I change my mind and don't like it? Reason why i'm playing with replicas to see what look I would prefer on my car. Sure I can look at pictures online and what not,, but it's not my car.I want to please myself with the cheap parts and how they look, so that I can later plan on the real products and be completely satisfied in the end. Maybe I won't paint my car until a year from now, and so over that time, i'd probably only spend upwards to $350 on replica products including shipping at the absolute most.
