^^Really? I'm a big fan of many lighter colored beers. It depends on the occasion. If I'm having a salty meal, and want a thirst quencher, lighter beers are usually better for that sort of situation. If I'm eating a meal with very strong flavors, or drinking a beer without food, a darker beer might be appropriate.

I'm more of a fan of lighter beers myself, as well. I like darker beers (stouts here and there, coffee porters are amazing), but only on occasion. My two top favorites are Shocktop and Leinenkugel.

Recently, my buddy turned me onto a brewery here in Orange County of SoCal called Bootlegger's Brewery. He had me pick up this stuff:

It's supposed to taste a bit like apple pie. I've yet to try it out. Probably will when I get home tonight.

^^Nice. Shocktop's not bad. Leinenkugel is good depending on which beer it is (some are a little too sweet for me.. which is strange, because I love Lambics).

I'm actually about to head out to a local beer bar. First time going to this one, so I'm interested to see what they have / what their prices are like.

i use to drink steel reserve 211 40s.. tried to drink 2 in a row but it wasnt happening lol..but ive since been a shiner bock person and have 101 beer bottles on my kitchen ledge

Im not really a crazy beer person as far as super dark beers go...
For the light beer drinkers Lone Star has a awesome light beer.

I tried it the other day. I don't really know what the buzz is about. I don't like the taste, at all.

I tried a Wexford's irish style creme ale the other night. Was really good. Long-standing head, and a really creamy beer overall. The can even had a nitrogen widget in it to improve the creaminess of the head.

It's only 1.8% higher than bud light. That's barely noticeable... If you're trying to get drunk quick, have liquor.

its noticeable, very noticeable actually. i can drink 3 and be feeling right. and i do drink liquor, jager. but that gets expensive as hell when you can just go and buy a six pack of platinum for like 9 bucks and be just as drunk. i dont drink for taste, i drink to get drunk as f**k, cause lets be honest, no beer taste good, and dont lie. you just have to acquired a taste for it.


so end result is, i can get drunk quicker with bud light platinum, and cheaper than buying jager.

^^No way. It's way cheaper to take a few shots of a cheap bottle and get drunk. You can buy a bottle of cheap anything for 9-10 bucks. If you only need 3 beers, you'll only need about 3 shots to do the job. A bottle is around 25 shots.. That means you could get to your happy place 8 times. At the same cost, you'd only get there twice with the beer you're talking about. If you're only in it for the effect, and not for the taste, there's absolutely no reason you shouldn't be drinking liquor.

Agree with joe if your drinking 100 percent simply for the effect buy the bottle of mr. bostons.
