As it turns out, the guy who hired me to work at his shop in palm bay may or may not be full of s*** :/ I'll explain: I woke up with this feeling in the pit of my stomach, you know, the one that tells you somethings not right. Welp, I didn't really know what to think of it, so I ignored it, are a bowl of cereal, watched the news, blah blah blah. 7:30 rolls around, and I decide to text the guy "Hey (his name) it's Tim, is it to early to call you?" And this is what he says back to me, copied and pasted verbatim " Theecanicame back for today his goin to finish my car but i let u lnow by tomoro" Really dude? Guess my gut was telling me not to waste my gas :/ The search for work continues. I knew it was too good to be true

You never have the job until papers are signed, and the letter of agreeance upon salary is signed. Future FYI. Plus, if you have to communicate to your boss via text before you start...that's a sign that they aren't professional at all.

i say keep txting him though but dont go unless its pretty sure. but if he does ask you to come out dont work more than a day or two with no pay. he probably needs the help but might jerk you around with the pay

Thanks to everyone, but, this has to be the best congratulations I've ever gotten, for anything.
I'm not gonna lie, I teared up a bit myself. It was just overwhelming how everything fell into place, and hearing how ecstatic my wife was, I can't even describe that feeling. It's pretty high on the list, but nothing will ever top the feeling I got the first time I held my son.
Thanks again, to everyone. As stated previously, I'm real big into "pay it forward" so I'll be making a few diy/how-to threads. It's the least I can do. If any of you have any specific requests, I'll do my best to accommodate them, but I currently only have 5th gens and a
7th gen at my disposal

Not at all, I'm a male striper... I kid, I kid lmao Seriously though, I'm going to be a cnc milling machine operator, I believe the first machine I'm training on makes the grips, but I'm not certain of that. I'll know for sure tomorrow I met the guy who will be training me, and the finished parts looked similar to half a set of brass knuckles, but aluminum. It's a weapons manufacturing facility. Ironically, the last time I shot anything, it was my issued side arm, and I got out of the Navy almost 13 years ago lol
