i've replaced the switch, it's not blowing any fuses, the stopper is still there. so i'm going to maybe jump the gun and say it's a short. so that leaves me to ask if it is a short where would i look for it so i don't have to tear my car apart. if you think it's something else please feel free to give me some ideas.
thanks.

are they staying on or staying off when the brake is applied?

check your connections and follow them all the way back to the lights. if there is a break in the like you'll find it and can correct it accordingly

to be simple, check the bulbs themselves and the switch connection first.

yeah they're staying on, the switch is plugged in it was a pain in the ass to get in on in the first place so i made sure of that. i don't know where the wiring starts for it so i could follow it back, where should i start?
