Like the article said, the evidence is overwhelming and there is no gray area. Even if her kids are sick and they need her, she still done f**ked up. If I was in the jury, I would've sentenced her to jail too. 5 years is nothing compared to what she could've gotten.
All of the students were 18 at the time of the sexual encounters, which occurred in the spring of 2011

But they aren't in the military. We're not debating whether or not they should be allowed to have sex, we're debating whether it should be morally acceptable for their current high school teacher to have sex with them. Having sex with a student is not acceptable, and it's not right. Would you feel the same way if this was a male teacher having sex with 18 year old girls?

They are 18 and are eligible to be drafted if we had a draft, so regardless of if they are in the military, they are of age to go to war.
If it were the same situation as this only reversed, yes I would feel the same way. They weren't manipulated or brainwashed into doing this. They are 18 and are old enough to make the decision that they wanted to go over to this person's house. They new EXACTLY what was going to happen at her house and that is the reason they went. They weren't raped. If this were underage kids, I would feel totally different. This to me is like professors at college having sex with students. They are adults, consenting to have sex with another adult. What does their profession have to do with it? Again, they weren't underage kids that didn't know what they were doing or what sex is.
What about a bunch of 18-19 year old dudes having sex with their supervisor at work? Is that morally wrong? When I was 19 a buddy of mine worked at Burger King and he along with 2 other guys that worked there had sex with the night manager. She was ~26. Same thing? Older lady having sex with 18-19 year olds or is it the teacher thing you can't get passed? If they are old enough and think she is hot (or are doing it for bragging rights), who are we to say they can't get their d**k wet?
Not like they are having a teenage unprotected sex party where the girls could end up pregnant and ruining their lives. This was an adult woman that already had kids (see below for my opinion on that) of her own that knew the consequences of getting pregnant.
The thing I do have AGAINST this is that she is married, has kids, and did this while her husband was serving for our country. The betrayal to her family is what I can't get passed.
