Melissa Milano

Hello! I just want to introduce myself. I'm from Northwest Indiana (I still consider myself from Chicago). I'm a new owner of a pre-owned 2000 milano red Honda Civic EX. Her name is Melissa Milano. LOL. Got her with 124,000 miles and bone stock!

My EJ8 will be a daily driver and used in the winter time. I also own an 8th gen Honda Accord which is essentially my "project car."

Basically I'm here to learn about my 6th gen Civic and how to get the most out of this car. I've always wanted a Civic growing up and I finally got one!

Any advice is much appreciated! I've been looking at stuff in the forum and it seems like I'm gonna need an alarm system on this one!

That's exactly who I was thinking of when I read the title .

:welcome:

I don't think you'll really need an alarm system on a bone stock EX. If it was an Si, I would say yes. But if and once you start modifying your EX, I'm sure an alarm system will come in handy (depending on what modifications). Plenty of information on this forum to find out what may peak your interest when it comes to modifications.

And very nice accord. I'm not so much a fan of the coupes as I am the sedans, but they are still good looking cars :thumbs up. Are those projectors halogen or HID?

Welcome to the site. Beautiful coupes. An alarm system is definitely a good idea, but there are also some cheaper alternatives like kill switches, pulling the ECU, lava moats, trunk monkeys, etc.

Thanks for the info. I'm also asking older gen civic owners if they've had any issues with break-ins etc. I actually just saw a Facebook posting about a stolen 92' Civic EG near Chicago area right out of the garage.

And I've got HID's on my Accord.

I've had a CRX and currently an EJ8. Both had/have alarms, neither are messed with.

Haha! Thanks!

Well the Accord is pretty much stock as well. What I have done:

- Takeda SRI
- Megan EZ coils
- SPC 3 arm camber kit
- 19" 2.2.2 Varrstoen rims. 9f and 10.5r
- 8000k HIDs
- Tints
- Debadge
- Weathertech floor liners and window deflectors
- Countersunk shift knob
- Blackberry stereo gateway integration

I try to keep it simple. Not too much... But still will turn heads =)

Well judging by the slicks up front, that car probably has a lot of money into it. A good reason for thieves to go after it. For a completely stock car, unless it's rare (like a 99-00 Si), I wouldn't worry about break-in's.

In all my years of owning my car and my brother owning it previous to me, I've never had an attempted theft. Someone key'd my car and that's the most trouble I've had with it so far. I own a 99 ex.
