My Project EJ8

So, some of you have seen pictures that I have posted of my latest project, a 2000 EJ8 in EBP. I purchased the car late July of this year with a clean title and just under 53k original miles on the chassis/motor. It is slightly modded and is definitely a good start, but it's going to get the "Touch de Lance" because many of the parts already added aren't really brands I personally would go with. I love the car, I love the color (although I have a special affinity for White, but the EBP is just sexy), but there are some serious changes to come. Now, please also note that I am married with three crib midgets, so I don't exactly have unlimited funds. Here's what I got:

Car: 2000 Honda Civic EX

Color: Formerly some shade of silver, now Electron Blue Pearl

Engine: SOHC D16y8 with DC Sports short ram intake, Speed Factory Exhaust

Suspension: KYB AGX and H&R Springs; billet rear lower control arms

Rollers: 17x7 Copycat Advan Traklites (I think. Correct me if you know what they really are).

Exterior: Si Grille shell, trim; Projector Headlights; Stoptech drilled and slotted rotors; GSR rear discs; Fully De-Badged; Goofy looking windshield banner

Interior: Stock seats; Red Pedal covers (going with white if any at all); Stock shifter

Ice: Pioneer AVIC z140-bh touchscreen stereo/dvd/navi/bluetooth/babysitter/coffee maker/road distractor...etc etc etc. It came with the car. It's nice, but still a bit over my head.

There's probably stuff I missed but that's what makes it a project I guess. Future plans are a built b16, 16" Rota Slipstreams, tint, upgraded stereo, CTR headlight housings with HIDs, possibly a different lip, 2007 Civic Si seats, K-Tuned shifter, changing the blue/red theme to blue/white, cold air intake, etc. If anyone has any advice I am still learning, so please feel free.

Lol, yeah, I think so. I mean, once I do my b16 swap, it'll basically be an Si without coming from the factory that way. One of my rims is cracked now (yay for me), and a buddy of mine wanted to sell me his Si wheels. But I kind of feel it would then look TOO Si, and without the power to match, I'm going to look real silly. I do wanna find some Rota Slipstreams in white though. I've finally got a car I always wanted and with low miles, so it's going to be with me a while.

Thanks, Alaska! Chime in when you have ideas for me. Speaking of which, what are your thoughts on my rim choice?

Rotas are 50/50

I've had buddies with bad experience's with them. They are known to crack pretty easily. But on the other hand, Rotas are affordable, and look good.

I like Enkei. They are great, durable and known to hold up in extreme situations.

But the white/blue look is amazing when done right.

Thank you, all, for the input. As I stated when I started the thread, I had a couple of small cracks in one of my rims. Well, a few hours after I posted this, I severely cracked another wheel and thus could not hold air. So instead of getting the rims I wanted or even anything kind of close, I ended up having to settle with what was readily available (as of RIGHT this second) and within my budget. Having only $500 to spend and very limited resources with which to do some simple research, I ended up driving to Les Schwab and then America's Tire, which are the two local shops that MIGHT carry rims in stock, to try to find something. I needed to stick with 17's for now because I have tires with 90% tread and it obviously would be dumb to over extend my meager budget to buy 16's with tires when I have good 17" tires.
That said, I picked up a set of 17x7 Voxx "Legra's" for $90 a rim. Although not my perfect wheel, they'll work for now, and when I do pick up my 16's, I can use these as my winter wheel. I really don't expect too much applause but like I said, they'll work. Here's pics:

Last shot taken of rims, as I was leaving tire shop.

Shoulda just got steelies, cheap and awesome for winter.
I thought about that too, but I had limited research abilities and needed something ready to go. But I may pick some up for winter anyway. Can't go wrong with winter steelies.

I feel ya! No doubt about that brother. Ever since I put winter tires on my hx's I never went back to anything else for the winter. It is such a huge difference between all weathers and winters only.

The winters where I am at don't get especially harsh, but I don't want to be tearing up my good rims once I get them. And now I am up in the air again lol...thought I wanted Slips but not so sure anymore. And one of the SGT's here at work has just done a B18c1 in his hatch, but thinks he wants to go back to a SOHC because he knows he will get himself in trouble. So MAYBE I will swap that in. It'd be plenty of power for sure.

Well when it decides to snow where I live..it snows lol
That's pretty cool if you could do that.
On the rims, I'd say search for a while and think about several that you'd like and keep narrowing it down. IMO slips are boooooooooooring...and SI's too.

That's why I am starting to go against the slips. Everyone has them. I think I'll just sit back and see what happens. Now that I have to save up again, it'll possibly open some doors.

I don't expect anyone to really jump at this, but I figured I'd post it anyway and see what happens. I am not really all that thrilled with the Voxx "Legra" rims I got. I just got them out of necessity and I got a fairly decent price on them. So here's the deal...if someone wants to trade my brand new 17x7s for their 16x7s, let me know. I want something with at least a little bit of a lip on it, and the tires MUST be good. As stated, I don't expect a whole lot of hoopla out of this, but you never know. And I'll be straight...these rims actually look fantastic in person. The photos don't do them any justice at all. They just aren't my style.
