I like the older cars better they had better shape to them & you could customiser them more & make them how you wanted plus they were easier to fix.now new cars I like some & they come the way you want them to from the factory ,CD player, with the aux,USB,LCD screen,& all but the cars are to futuristic the bodies are funny shaped & their to computerized.Im fine with the huge LCD in the center dash but everything else I prefer manual, like civic to me the last good looking body was 06 the last best car was 99-00, same for evo's their ugly as hell & the eclipse now evo was in 03,skyline looks ok but I prefer the 99-2001.you guys get my point

Ehhh I don't think that new Civics are that bad. I actually think the brand new Civic SI's are beastly looking IMO. Sadly though I am a Hatchback fan big time... Sooooo I am still waiting for them to release another one day... =)

I like the older civics more. obd1 particularly, but all 6th gens are obd2, and I like 6th gens. The only reason is because the older ones are easier FOR ME to work on. I don't know all of the electronic mumbo-jumbo that you have to know to work on the newer cars.

Late 80's and 90's mostly for me. There are a few 70's and some 00's that I like, but it seems most everything I really dig is 90's stuff. I did own a 72 Datsun 510 with an SR20 swap that was freakn' DOPE and then a few years later I was rollin' a 350zTT which was a killer at the top end so...

Give me a clean EG and a beer by the beach and i'll be happy any day of the week :thumbs up

To work on, I prefer the late 80's and throughout the 90's, with a bit shy of the early 2000's.
To own, I don't care what decade it's from as long as it's nice lol.

I think another reason why the 80's-90's cars are the most modified still is because of the exposure, the amounts of trial and error done with them. I could be a bit stuck in one perspective but I've got to say that build-wise, the late 80's-90's cars will dominate for another few decades as daily drivers + weekend warrior track use. Newer cars have many sensitive sensors, parts, safety+electrical etc; and are slowly becoming too difficult for the average joe to work on so the dealer will have to do certain jobs. Maybe this is how it was in the 90's, and 70's-80's cars were the better vehicles at the time perhaps.

I don't know motors are motors they are all pretty easy to work on. The main diff between the old and new is more sensors. These days instead of dealing with carb floats, caps, rotors ect ect you deal with cam and crank sensors. The big disadvantage is auto makers are pushing more and more to the software side. It is in an effort to make customers come back to the dealer for service instead of some little auto shop.

The down side for me is that the newer cars don't need as much up keep and tune ups. So that's less work for me to get paid for lol.
