Ran out of gas

My gas tank size is supposed to be 11 gal I believe. So i filled my car up a while back and have been runnin it to bout empty to check out my mileage. So today I was on the way home from work, bout a 30 minute drive down the interstate. I had a quarter of a tank when I left

I get off the interstate and my car starts sputtering so I'm thinking s**t i'm out of gas already? So it bout dies, I pull over and then it wants to go again. I drive a few miles down the street to get to the gas station and barely make it. My car completely dies as I get next to the pump.

I fill her up, and I only get 7.5 gallons until its full? Wtffffff?

Brand new fuel pump. It runs fine until I get to about a quarter tank left

This is the second time that it has started to die at around a quarter tank. My gas gauge was messed up before, but still doesn't make sense why I only got 7.5 gallons in it

maybe you got a bad pump, or somthing is wrong with the pump, thats my guess, if it runs fine till you get to a certain point, its the pump

I just put a new pump and filter on about a month ago. Well damn

Could it be a ton of trash in the tank?

Try a gas/injector cleaner like seafoam and see if that helps.

normally when i run mine down near E it only takes me like 7.5 to 8 gallons in it. i dont think ive ever hit 9 even before

And hm me either. I never let it go past 1/4 before and I only ever got about 7 in it. Today it never went to E

Really, I've filled up to 10.5 gal before on my 92 EX. I did drive it for 55 miles on the fuel light, so it was dam close to empty.

Check your float and you may want to purge your fuel line from the tank forward, if none of the other suggestions work. I had a similar problem with an RX-7 years ago and found the line was slightly clogged.

It is very possible to get bad parts from the store. And a good rule of thumb is to fill up at your 1/4 mark as it is much more taxing on the fuel pump.
Even in the af I got 5 bad parts out of supply in a row lol That my friend was very frustrating.

I'm thinking its dirty. My car sat for about 7 months or more not running. And who knows how long it sat before i bought it. I never have let it go under a quarter but I was trying to run it about empty. It really isn't such a big deal I guess, i can just fill her up before it gets to that point
