Paid cash money for some sweet EJ2 rice this weekend

I have an add that I keep rotating on CL up here looking for Honda/Acuras that aren't working or people just want to unload and that's how I came up on this. Girl says it's not running and she doesn't know why. I went and looked, started it briefly and quickly shut it down. I tell her I think her timing is off at the very least. She says she paid 1500 for it a couple months back but will take $500. I ended up talking her down to $450 if she trailered it to my house.

So... After I reset the timing and put a fuse in the "back up" fuse holder where there wasn't one (factory ECU reset fuse), car fired right up and drove great! Sounds/looks like complete and total RICE, but hey, it's a 5 speed EJ! I listed it for sale already but I thought i'd share with everyone what an Alaska paint job looks like on rice. Factory red paint, spray painted white, then spray painted black.

BTW, I didn't even try to turn it over before putting that fuse in and after I just typed this out, I wonder if the car would work alright with out that fuse? Who knows if it was ever there while she owned it because I guess she had a family friend work on it and try to get it running for her. He may have removed it so I don't know. The dumb ass used air tools on everything too. Cracked the crank pulley right in half!! That was a major beotch trying to get off there. Lucky I had a spare.

Also, that Acura CL in my garage was a similar story. $250 cash money! I'll post up something on that later once I confirm the fix this week.

LOL.. ^^^ Nothing good about this car except it'll get you from point A to B. Working a trade on it over lunch for a 93 accord which I think I will have an easier time selling. One guy that came to see it LOVED the exhaust which I thought was funny. It's all full of holes and sounds absolutely ridiculous with that can on it.

Too late. Traded that black civic straight up the next day for a clean 93 accord, then sold that the next day for a grand

I don't think i'll be able to do this much longer. Once the snow comes it's pretty much game over until May. Totally blows, so I have to pick the one project I want to work on for the whole winter and leave it locked up in the garage until spring. I can't believe what i've been able to score on CL around here. It's CRAZY! Picking up an EF hatch tomorrow for $100, just bought a Toyota Camry for $250.. I'm making a grand every week just from the cars I don't have to even fix. They already run, just dumb people don't know how to post pics or create an accurate thread with correct prices. Some people are really clueless up here! Forget digging for gold, which happens all over the place around my area, buying/selling cars is where it's at up here. Well... for fun anyway. My day job still pays the bills. All these cars just pay for... well.. more cars! hahaha

Wish it was cheap to ship stuff to you guys. I don't have enough money to buy up everything I see around here that's hundreds/thousands under book value. I had to rent a 20x35 lot to store the vehicles I can't keep at my house anymore!

I have it listed for sale and suspect it'll be gone in a week or so. The Alaska state dividend goes out to everyone in a few days so there will be lots of people around with extra cash to blow. It runs and drives freakn great!! But I have yet to mount the shift linkage (zip tied still) and hard mount the header to the cat back (flange too big on header to mach cat back). I got it running, then moved on. LOL. Picked up a 98 Talon AWD turbo (auto gayness) that I can't get to start so between that and getting the Acura CL running and... Well, lets just say i'm done with the b16 civic. It's pretty fun to drive though! I canceled insurance on it though so I would be forced to keep driving my EE4

$250 (Runs great! Lady just had a bad battery and didn't even post pictures. Gonna see if I can get 1200 out of it tomorrow)

$100 (Doesn't start. Haven't had time yet to even open the hood)

$1500 (Doesn't start... yet. Working this one first because it'll sell for more money to build the hatch!)

Speaking of, someone contacted me about buying his civic wagon today. He wants to trade straight up for the hatch I just got. I already have 2 running and a shell though. I don't know if I should get a 4th? I can't wait to build one though! It'll be the only one I keep. I'm dead set on that too. My family lives in San Antonio so maybe we can get together one of these days and grab a beer when I come visit.
