so i was curious to see if an invidia exhaust from a 97 coupe with a d15 would fit on my 96 d16 hatch.

Look up the part numbers for that exhaust, if they match, it should. I'm going to guess it won't.

The coupe/sedan has a longer rear section than the hatch so the axleback will not work.

but in a technical sense, if i took 100 bucks to a local exhaust shop and had them modify it to fit...id be good?? lol i just got an invidia n1 from a guy for 150 bucks. so that to me seems worth a little bit of custom work...

If you've already got it why are you asking us. Jack your car up and slide it under so you can see what needs to be done to make it fit, then call a muffler shop

why would we stand by? It's all over the internet. The axle back section will not fit correctly and the b-pipe may not bolt up directly depending on the exhaust manifold setup you have. If you have the integrated cat with your exhaust manifold the b-pipe will be too short, if you have the catalytic converter that is separate from the exhaust manifold then the b-pipe is a direct bolt on.

uh huh.....what coupe do you know of that is the same length as a hatchback? The b pipe and s bend are the same, the axle back isn't. it can be placed in the axle back position but the muffler won't be exactly where it's supposed to be.

Maybe the guy you bought it from accidentally put a hatch exhaust on his coupe... :what:

as long as its not some weird pipiing like the crx. my 3r racing came from a 4 door accord and fit alright.

I've heard of some coupe exhausts fitting hatch exhausts, but as CHILD said, they usually don't. If yours did, awesome, you just came up hardcore for $150 for an Invidia N1 haha.

I never understood paying for an expensive bolt up exhaust anyways. Do you know the gains you get from a mandrel bent exhaust vs a crush bent like an exhaust shop does? It's so minimal not even worth it. Id rather buy a good muffler and have the piping made. Spend the money saved some where else.

I understand you got a deal on it and that's great. Just expressing my opinion.

For it to fit correctly on one of the cars, then it has to be wrong on the other. They aren't the same, there is no inbetweener exhaust that can fit both.
