Anyone every bought any OEM body parts from ebay? I am planning doing a 96-98 to 99-00 front end conversion and was wondering if I should just get the parts off ebay sense they are cheaper then off these OEM Honda Parts sites.

Post a link to what you are talking about. They may or may not actually be OEM. eBay is a great resource, you just have to be careful and make sure you know what you're getting before you buy.

This.

Some say "OE replacement" or something of the like. I've bought OEM stuff from eBay before. You just have to be very careful.

Something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CIVIC-99-00-RIGHT-RH-FENDER-CAPA-NEW-/290607910350?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D2649987042915819201%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D290607910350%26 It really doesn't say OEM in the description or anything.

That is not an OEM part, it actually says aftermarket replacement in the description. They MIGHT be okay but personally, I wouldn't do an entire front end conversion with parts like that. From what I've seen (granted I haven't done it) there are generally small fitment issues that cause weird gaps and make everything look just a little bit off.

I had to replace my core support and used the aftermarket one, it rusted out within 5 months. A lot of trouble with fitment and durability with those. Why not try a junk yard or oem parts online store?

Well the OEM part store wants like $150+ so I was just trying to save some money, but thats where I will probably get the parts anyways. I really don't know of any junk yards around me I will look into it.

Thanks I didn't see that so is there a OEM brand in the Ebay search category?

If something is OEM, usually the main description in the search hits will include the words "Honda", "OEM", and "Genuine" somewhere in there. And yes, there should be a check box for "OEM" you can select to narrow down your searches. When I want to find something that's Honda OEM, I usually search "Honda OEM <part>".

I've bought 2 fenders (left + right) and a front bumper cover off Ebay. I wasn't really satisfied..... Nothing like OEM. It did do the job tho. Both time and money wise. And you can't tell the small gaps, at least from a distance at least. In conclusion, Ebay is a GREAT site to buy parts, both aftermarket and OEM. Like members said above, you just gotta know what your looking for and buying. Ebay has been good to me by all means. That's my input for this thread.
