I have a 1993 honda civic ex complete stock i just got it not to long ago, i wanted to know if this d16 comes with vtec? And if not can i put in vtec and how?
New to honda, how can i check if my civic has vtec

If you pop the hood and look to the left of your header/manifold about 4-6 inches below the head you should see a stamped mark that says "d16z6" on the block. Also look for the vtec solenoid right next to the dizzy in the front left corner of the motor if you are standing in front of the car. Hope that helps you
Three ways.
#1: Post pictures of your engine.
#2: Go for a drive and floor it. Does it sound like vrrrroooooooom? Or does it sound like vrooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOM!! You'll hear VTEC kick in. If you think you might hear something or MAYBE there was a noise just then no, you do not have VTEC. It's noticeable. No question about it.
#3: This is the VTEC solenoid. Its located on your motor near the dizzy. You can't miss it. If you don't see it, you don't have VTEC. It obvious just like the picture.

How can i get Vtech, can i just get a Vtech Head and thats it or i i have to get a whole bunch of things with that? and if so is it worth it? or should i just swap my engine to a D16z6?
Search mini me swaps. U need for starters head, ecu, vtec wiring, vetec selonoid.
It's not that difficult but it's not all that easy either. If u use the search button on this site and on hondatech.com u will find countless threads on it.
