Modification advice? 92 Si

So I just got a 92 Si recently.

Picked it up from the original owners, 198k miles, perfect maintenance and runs like a champ.

Only things that aren't stock are the speakers, stereo, and some kinda ugly looking wheels, other than that, bone stock.

So the question is, what should I do?

I want to lower it, and throw on some LS webs, but I'm not sure what I should buy to lower it. I'll be dropping around $300 to lower it, so no eBay stuff.

Suspension has been covered a million times. Look around for a while. Research, plan, execute. I think there is even a sticky in the SUSPENSION forum that covers newbie suspension topics....

Civics are one of the MOST covered vehicles for aftermarket parts. We are going to need some sort of a direction. Right now you are not providing very much.

Power? Looks? Budget? Style?

$300 isn't going to get you too far. Springs maybe.

$300 won't do much at all. unless you throw in at least a grand for a swap or boost, your honda will still be an economy car..

though hondas are cheap, modding them gets expensive (especially if you want quality parts)

so if you dont want to spend much just go for looks.
suspension wise, $300 wont get you much

Well, looks like a long-time project it is!

I already planned on a B16 swap as an eventual thing though.

Should I plan on dropping $700 or so on Skunk 2 one-pieces then?



Those wheels I'm not a fan of though. I do plan on starting with some basic things, wheels, maybe a lip and fogs, maybe a duckbill.

I think the first thing you should do is wheels. Then save up for quality suspension. You've ridden in my Civic enough times to know that ebay lowering solutions are terrible.

Look into the progress coilovers. Springs will only lower the car so much. With coilovers you get adjustability.

Honestly I have used skun2 on multiple cars and love them, imo get function and form type 1s. They are a great deal for the price. Rims next. LS meshies are what I ran on my first ej1, they definitely look good on egs.

take your time, research what's out there for your budget. wheels and tires or suspension will likely set you back about the same amnt (of course, depends on what you get of either). So, what do you want to do FIRST? If ok with ride height, go wheels/tires. If tires ok (and you don't mind the current wheels) go suspension first.

id leave it stock and drive it. leaving my mazda stock is best thing iv ever done. if i had all the money iv wasted on cars back,id be f**king rich

I'd save my money and buy quality coilovers. Any other items purchased suspension wise would be a waste until you buy those first.

I disagree on the basis that there are many spring/shock options that offer a solid drop with a comfortable ride for under $500-$600. Unless you really wanna go into performance suspension, a real quality set of coilovers will run around $1500 and up.
