Well I haven't been on in a while. I've been so busy but I have been doing some recent work on the car. I had a small problem with the ring gap. I had plastiguaged the mains, and put the factory oem rings in the holes and tried to get the end gap. Turns out all the gaps were too big. So I took it back to where I got the work done and got it checked out. Turns out the oem honda pistons were 81.25mm, which is a problem since they are meant to fill an 81.25mm hole. We took some measurements of some older BNIB OEM CTR pistons and they were 81.23mm which is smaller and the rings will have better gaps. So what I did was get some 81.5 Mahle pistons rings. All file to fit. No fun but I have good gaps when I'm done. I'm still in the process. It's my Birthday and I don't care to tinker with it today. I also ordered a good bit of stuff from Acura. I should have every part to finish the building of the engine. Here are a few pics.

Here's the block back from the machine shop all nice and pretty

Beautiful cylinder head

b16 pistons installed on gsr rods

Filing rings for now

Well I'll get it done in the near future. Maybe I'll get the rings filed and install the pistons. Hopefully the rod bearings are all good, then I can really assemble the bottom end. Then I'll be happy. After that it's valve lapping time when they get here. Then time to install all the valves and valve springs. Once I'm done with that it's final assembly and nick nacks.

What else have you done to the body?
Nothing. I've been busy, and haven't needed to.

But I checked all my rod bearing clearances and it all checks out. Then I assembled them and put them on for good. I'll put on all the easy goodies on tomorrow evening.

Nice! would you happen to have a d series oem oil pan gasket?
Nah I don't do D series any more. I had a built all motor one in the early 2000's but I won't do another. A lot of money for not a lot of performance. But Majestic will help you out on the gasket.

Well I finished my bottom end tonight. Pretty easy. This thing is beautiful. Here are a few assembly and mock up pics.

Maybe my cylinder head parts will come in soon and I can build the head.

DOES look good. I'm still trying to remove the last bits of old valve seal from my z6 head, before I start reassembling it. THAT, my friend, is a b***h to do. I'm pretty sure they were the original seals, so they're stuck on pretty good

Well I guess I forgot to make an update friday so I guess I can combine them. I received my order from Acurapartswarehouse.com and started right away with installing them. Here's what I got in the mail.
New OEM honda valves and ITR intake springs all around with 1 O ring for the breather.

Then I decided to install my extra ARP headstuds I had lying around.

Install pic

Then I checked it, put on the head gasket, and torque it all down.

Well here's the progress from last night and a little time during my lunch break. I replaced the oil cooler hoses with some newer ones I have and put on the intake manifold. I adjusted the valves as well. I also painted the plug wire cover because it looked a bit tired. Then I mocked up the valve cover for looks with the itr oil cap.
Here are the pics. So the engine is pretty well done. I'm not gonna install the valve cover until I actually get it in the car because I don't want to scratch it at all.

You'd be the guy to ask. Valve adjustment, how do you do it? I stick with the standard valve lash adjustment but someone told me I need to adjust something else with the valves.
