not knowing what is included (like what kind of turbo, intercooler, etc) in the kit, it's really up to you

what are your goals? that seems like a good price but you will need a chipped ecu and a good tune plus the oil feed and drain, probably t bolt clamps and silicone couplers. i read that the civic si fuel pump can push 300hp so im assuming any d series fuel pump can handle at least 230hp without an upgrade

My goal is 250 to 300 the guy said at 8psi he was running 180? of course I would do a PROPER install with a tune and ARP head studs im curious on how much more involved it will get i.e. cams, valve train, etc etc. to reach my goal. Also chipped ecu? Is that me buying a chip and having the tune shop program? Or buying a different ecu?

what year is your civic? if its 95 and older its obd1 which means you just need to chip your ecu, if its 96 and newer its obd2 which means you need an obd2 to obd1 ecu conversion harness and an obd1 ecu that has been socketed and chipped. the chipped ecu allows you to remove and install a chip when ever needed, it has the fuel and ignition maps tuned to make the car run right. it really depends who tunes the car as to how much hp it makes, some people tune conservative which makes less power. my car is only making 166hp and 149 tq right now and im sure my turbo is bigger than the edelbrock turbo but im on a stock block so my tune is conservative. just remember the power limit of a stock block d16 is about 220hp so if you want to go higher you will need rods pistons and arp stuff

So in reference to rods and pistons what mild price brands are good?? Like how do I know which ones are going to be best for my set up? And if I do rods and pistons and head studs then how do I know which cams to go with? I want a more aggressive civic for street use.

to name a few brands of rods: eagle, manley, scat
pistons: vitara, cp, wiseco, srp (vitara being the cheapest pistons)

it all depends on your budget but i think vitara and eagle would be the cheapest combo. no need for a cam really the stock cam i think has supported more than 350hp if i can remember right, its just whether or not you want stock or an aggressive cam?
