Ummm no we arent...

This is the least drilling that colorado has seen in over a decade...
U.S. Independents Paint Optimistic Picture With 2012 Drilling Plans

My family owns a humongous amount of property in Larimer and Weld County, CO in which oil drilling sites have been set up. I know they reached a lot of obstacles and road blocks from surrounding counties (a lot of small-time farmer families didn't want to have drilling in their back yards.. basically, they felt it would bring in too much traffic.. that, and all of the eco-friendly go-green groups were getting butthurt about "exploiting natural beauty" and "damaging terrain", unaware that many of these companies leave a small carbon footprint). From what I understand, the giant projects were delayed until Spring of 2013, but have a green light. I could be wrong, need to speak with my family up there, but this is what I was told as of this past summer.

I work oil and gas and am in Colorado. I travel all over with my job.

Yes drilling has picked up a bit in the eastern part but has essentially stopped in the rest of the state. If its not oil, its not getting drilled.

The price of natural gas is way down and the majority if Colorado and Utah is natural gas.

There is a reason most of my work is in North Dakota. And even that is supposed to be slowing down greatly due to the election.

I know of atleast a dozen oilfield companies personally that have layoffs planned for the sole reason of Obama being reelected. Even if the economy picks up under Obama, these companies are counting their losses and downsizing.

Its not hard to see whats going to happen.

In my county, i was laid off two years before the recession started to affect local businesses. It is just now starting to affect my wifes paycheck.

More drilling in North Dakota please! My family owns a huge farm that was we home steded there. I'm the inheritie of it. I would love for a company to drill on it instead of just continuously buying our mineral rights..it's like having a winning lottery ticket, but you don't know hen the ur numbers will be picked.

On a side not how the f**k did Washington legalize weed and Oregon didn't. No I don't smoke it lol.

Who has 2.5 hours out of their day? I feel that we will be in a much better financial position with Romney. I'm not a big Obama fan, he seems contradicting. I work hard for what I got and I don't want to share with someone who doesn't work as hard as me.
It wouldn't have been 2.5 hours for you. Probably would have been 3 minutes. If you filled out an absentee ballot, it would have been even less.

If you think Obama is contradicting, you haven't seen the videos of Romney from a few years ago, and today. All politicians contradict themselves. If you think Romney didn't do it, you were under informed.

life will go on regardless of who wins people make it sound like it will be sooooo incredibly horrible. Fear for your job? get a new one? Its not hard.
Many many people have found it hard to get a new one. You live in Ohio. You are only in one part of the U.S. Maybe it's not difficult to find a job in your area, but it IS hard in many places.

No I just don't blame my problems on others and I make sure my future is set. I am almost 30 and make more at my job than most that have been here for 10-20 years because I make sure I am always going to be here. If not oh well I am always getting tons of offers for other places making more than I do now. It's not hard to do and was making 40 k when I was 25. Im just not a little b**** who complains about everything
A sample size of 1 is not representative of the population. Your experience is not necessarily that of the rest of the country. With the number of variables, it is very possible that your experiences are atypical.

I could honestly care less who is president because no matter what I will be fine.
Do you not care about your parents? Your future children? Your significant other? Your friends? Your co-workers? They are all impacted by the elected president.

I lol a bit.. because Chris and I are on TOTAL opposites of the political spectrum, yet I couldn't agree with him more, in this thread. :thumbs up

I don't think Obama has been perfect by any means but I think that he has done enough to earn four more years. Of course, not everyone will agree but things seem to be getting better steadily (not necessarily all Obama either) so I think that it's good to stay the course. One interesting point to bring up is that we haven't had a one-term President since George H. Bush.

I'm definitely on the left but I don't completely disagree with everything on the right either, I just think the current batch of Republican leaders are WAY too far right.

I'm still shocked that california voted to tax themselves more to make up for the spending of their states leaders. My mind is blown right now

EDIT: After some thought, I guess i'm not really THAT shocked. I mean... California is crazy so... What ever.

The majority here are absolutely f**king RETARDED. A proposition that was turned down allowed insurance companies to charge those who have had tickets in the past for driving without insurance, more money to insure them (illegals do this s**t all the time. They roll around, no license, no insurance, get caught, spend the night in jail, get out, and start the process over again, or hit people and take off). We also did NOT pass a proposition that would force companies to label everything that went into our food. Initially, the retards occupying this state with me said "tax us, we don't care, but DON'T tell us what we're eating, and we don't care about immigrants with no insurance."

LOL.. It's just crazy no matter how you look at it. I'm going to buy an island some day (even if I have to make it like they do in Dubai) and make my own rules!

Rule #1 - Nothing must suck about this island.
Rule #2 - If something sucks about this island, the cause of such suckiness shall be kicked in the sack or region where said sack would typically exist on the male species.

Agreed on that point, too.

I'm also shocked that people didn't want their food labeled appropriately. THAT blows my mind, especially in California. I would love to have labels like that in FL. Now, I just assume everything has GMOs/pesticides unless it says it's organic.

So you guys blame the illegals????

Sent from my civic using a stock engine
Where did you see blaming illegals in there. Its not about shooting illegals but improving our borders instead of cutting down on them. Their was also problem with me in allowing them to stay here and giving them work visas when we still have a high unemployment number.

What's the problem with illegals? They do all of our shitty jobs for s**t pay. If they didn't that box of strawberries that you love (figure of speech) would have a much higher price. Since they would have to hire citizens or residents and pay them minimum wage to pick the strawberries.

Ok fine. They pick fruit. It's yummy and i'm ok with that.

Now make them pay for insurance (all types) and taxes (which cover everything from city water to tearchers pay). America isn't free to live in. Come here illegally, ok, but don't be a mooch is how I see it. Taking a test to be here is silly.. You gotta pay to play. We all know that. America was founded on people coming here from other countries so I don't think it should be made extra difficult to live here... Just pay your fair share and move on with your life. Don't bother me, I won't bother you and then we can go out for an earned  at the end of a hard days work.

^^ I agree but not because im mexican, I also agree that we need to secure the borders mostly because of all the drugs nd weapons that are coming here.sadly I know people in mexico that profit from drugs nd weapons coming in here, nd like he told me once,"we produce nd the white people consume", he said there's so much demand for heroin and weed. But I know were you guys are coming from, I would be pissed if someone came into my country nd took jobs/or did em at a much cheaper rate.

Living in California, there are illegals everywhere. Many of them are good people trying to make a better life for themselves, and their families, and they work HARD. I commend and welcome these people, and I feel like our government/council should be helping them to become legal citizens. Instead, we're handing them things like driver's licenses, grants, health insurance etc. which does NOT encourage them to gain citizenship. What motivation do they have if all of these things are GIVEN to them, simply for being here? Also, for every good, hard working immigrant, there are 4 lazy ass paisas that want to come over here because they stole a bunch of pot while they were coyotes, and the cartel wants to put their heads on sticks. They come over here, they KNOW about all the free s**t they can get, and they exploit it. They'll collect welfare (yes, an immigrant can be granted welfare if they have kids), have anchor babies with their wives to ensure their kids have citizenship, and mooch like crazy off the system. This may sound racist, but I assure you it's not (in fact, half of my family is hispanic, so the racism s**t is null and void). It's the truth. We need a no tolerance policy. If an immigrant is caught here illegally and has a public record, jail time. Mandatory 3 years. Watch how quickly those fools stop sneaking over here once they hear that s**t.
