Here we go! Something that actually gets my brain working.
First off i will take a shitload of measurements to keep the axle where i need it in the rear. Then i will be cutting the frame at the firewall and building a complete new frame from the firewall back.
At first i will figure out the range of motion for the rear end and check for binding and such using the stock a arms and such. Then figure out bag mounting points. Then i will build my own arms and make sure i dont get any unwanted toe or camber issues.
Basically i have to take 6 inches out if the whole rear end to tuck under the bedsides so i will have to have each axle shortened 3 inches.
The stock subframe is usable but ugly. I will be sectioning it at first to check clearances abd figure out camber at first but hope to build my own crossmember eventually. We will see how this works out as im quite overwhelmed of the whole thing right now, but i will persevere and my mind will direct itself once i start cutting and fabbing.
Then there us bag placement. Depending on how i build the frame this should be self explanatory.
But i also have to think about fuel cell mounting and air tank and air management and such.
Everything i have in my head looks promising but it never works out the way it is in your head.
Only time will tell but im excited to start working in the frame and building the cab floor again.
