Here we go! Something that actually gets my brain working.

First off i will take a s***load of measurements to keep the axle where i need it in the rear. Then i will be cutting the frame at the firewall and building a complete new frame from the firewall back.

At first i will figure out the range of motion for the rear end and check for binding and such using the stock a arms and such. Then figure out bag mounting points. Then i will build my own arms and make sure i dont get any unwanted toe or camber issues.

Basically i have to take 6 inches out if the whole rear end to tuck under the bedsides so i will have to have each axle shortened 3 inches.

The stock subframe is usable but ugly. I will be sectioning it at first to check clearances abd figure out camber at first but hope to build my own crossmember eventually. We will see how this works out as im quite overwhelmed of the whole thing right now, but i will persevere and my mind will direct itself once i start cutting and fabbing.

Then there us bag placement. Depending on how i build the frame this should be self explanatory.

But i also have to think about fuel cell mounting and air tank and air management and such.

Everything i have in my head looks promising but it never works out the way it is in your head.

Only time will tell but im excited to start working in the frame and building the cab floor again.
I mean...yeah sounds like gravy

Ive been waiting until after i take the truck to denver this weekend to tear back into it. Then the motor us coming out and being sent off to be rebuilt and im going to town on the frame and rear end and getting everything welded up and plumbed.

Its not as simple as i make it sound and it sucks getting help pulling a cab and a bed a million times. But hopefully i make a dent and get a solid amount done before april.

Going to take my truck to the club im trying to get in. Gotta go to denver to go meet more of the guys and let them see my truck. I will have to petition for a year and then show them my truck again in a year to get full membership.

Lol my buddy with the duramax is already in the club. He gets free fuel from work and he offered to pull my truck down since he has to go to the meeting also.

So i dont have to pay for fuel or wear and tear on the dodge. Plus his truck will pull the passes better than mine.

As to benefits of being in a club. It really depends on the person. A lot of people are anti club. And ive been on both sides of it. I was in a big club a few years ago and got kicked out for some pretty dumb reasons and i swore i would never be in another club.

Then i was approached by a couple gurs in No Regrets(the club im trying to get in) asking me to join. After a year or so of telling them no i finally decided to talk to the president if the colorado chapter and see if he was interested in having my truck and he said yes.

Anyways, there are perks. One thats not as important, but always comes into play like it or not is that being in a big club helps your chances of being shot for a magazine.

Another thing is that a lot of the big clubs have big players in the scene that own companies or good shops and its easier to get sponsored or hooked up with parts.

Im not doing it for either of those mentioned above.

The reason im trying to join this club us firstly-- No Regrets has the nicest most down to earth helpful guys and gals in the scene. They dont allow people in that are conceited dicks. They want to have people that u can talk to at a show and arent afraid to talk to like some other clubs that wont give u the time of day.

Its like a family. It doesnt matter if i go to a show out of state and dont know any if the members from there. They will accept u as family and everybody parks together and parties together and takes care of each other.

Its really hard to explain unless u see it first hand. Club life is not for everyone and it has to be seen firsthand to see if its right for u.

Its not like the honda community at all.

Wish I could mini truck it but I need something for work. Need it to pull mild weight but I drive a lot of miles so I just need it reliable. From what I saw they are good tough little trucks.
