My Security Lecture.

I've had quite a few people ask about security for our precious Hondas the last few days so I thought I should share this conversation.

The Club: lol ever heard of bolt cutters? Or they'll just chop up your steering wheel, it will slow them down, but that's it.

The cruise control switch is common, so is the blinker left. That will be the first 2 things they would check if it was broken into. The one I did is mounted in the center console below the stereo, it's a switch that requires a key and then my alarm has a built in immobilzer. I don't really want to go into further detail them that.

Killswitches are common and thiefs know it. 3 common switches:
Starter:
Ignition
Fuel pump
Each take roughly 30 seconds each to bypass.
Wheel lock doesn't count, it's a lol in the minds of them. It's a small pin that takes two small guys or one big guy to break. Don't trust it.

90% of theifs will be turned away by a simple blinking light in the car. The other 10% get creative, if they know you have an alarm they will put a big ass magnet on the hood on top of the battery, it will drain the battery then they can break in and pop the hood. From there they will most likely disconnect the siren, roll the car, pop the clutch and they're gone. Now if you did have a second battery just for the alarm it will drain eventually, alarms take more power than you would think, I would say 2-4 weeks and its dead. If they did all that work and then noticed the alarm was still blinking they would most likely give up. And then there is a flatbed, you can't stop it.

The absolute best thing you could do is mount a motorcycle battery in the quarter panel with an inactive/active gps. Hopefully you get to the car with police before its stripped. It only takes 2 people 40 minutes to get the valuable stuff and it takes 2 hours to get everything.

Audiovox makes great alarms. Just remember you're 90% safer with just a blinking light.

If anyone has any questions on security feel free to message me anytime.

How can they bypass a fuel pump killswitch if they can't find it? Unless they want to take all that time and follow the wire and find the switch.. but if cleverly hidden it won't be that simple to find, especially if the wire goes under the carpeting.. I mean I guess you could run your own wire from the pump to the battery, but I assume that would take a little while to do..

9 volt battery with a safety pin pushed through the fuel pump wire is plenty of power to get the car away. But a better way to do it is a jumper wire from the battery to the fuel pump. When my fuel pump relay went out I ran it off a drill battery until I got home

You can put your light battery anywhere. As long as you can't see it you're good

I learned something new today, sadly though nothing will stop a tow truck. My previous car was stolen 3 times, each time i got it back lol. I feel I am destined to have the car

Yep. I can pull a motor and strip a whole car in about 3 hours by myself...

Scary huh?

I can have your motor out in 20. Just matters if you're being nice about it or you just don't give a care. Bolt cutters on the axles, jack it up and unbolt the mounts. No cooling or electrical involved if you're jacked high enough

Thats true. If your not pulling connectors or grounds or what not i could have it out in about 20 minutes also.

They can easily pop the hood by pulling the cable through the fender too and then disconnect the battery that way.
