The dictionary says you're wrong.

A car has a stance, just like a person has a stance (unless they've been in an accident) but anyway. You get my drift.

Functional, non functional, flush, low, high, crooked, broken, stock, poke, or anything else are all different stances. Even martial arts has different stances. A trend cannot all of sudden change the definition of a word. How can people fall into that?
