Hi all, name is Jason... I am a car salesman and I sell Subaru's. I just picked up a 99 civic ex coupe from my work. It needs work but the car is solid... Not rot or rust. Motor and tranny are leaking so this is a project car for me. I also have a 98 jeep wrangler for winter and a 2011 subaru wrx for summer.. I have some big plans for the civic won't have time or money for a while... I gotta work on some other projects first. I have an invader 2 carbon fiber hood for it and a buddy club 2 body kit. Unfortunate the body kit will require custom figment so I will be selling that. I can't do custom fitments myself and this is a self project car so that's now out of the question. I will be posting pics once this damn tapatalk app decides it wants to work

Thanks for the welcomes. The kit is going away I'm gunna list it for sale, not much for that look. But the hood I might keep, have to see it on first... Got both for free =)

The current plans are to eventually build it into a 10 second car... I want to 1/4 mile this car... However for now I will be driving it until it dies! Then comes the upgrades. Rims and Exhuast and all that in the spring but for winter nothing... It's a gem, no rust at all... One owner, stock... Old lady owned it =). The leak is pretty bad. I did have it checked out, I bought it from my work for dirt... The leak however is fixable and not a big deal but I'm not going to fix it... I figure I'll drive it til it dies and then drop in some nice parts =). I don't know a lot about civics because I've never owned a Honda. My buddy who was a Honda tech had the exact same car that I bought, color and all lol... That's where I got the hood and body kit from. I have big plans for this car but any advice where to start? I know with my wrx if I even put an Exhuast on I have to get a tune... Would this be the same with the Honda? And do they make a tool for that? Someone mentioned hondata to me and I'm not sure what it is, any advice on that? I don't have a lot to spend right now as I will be building an apartment above my garage. I have a full garage with all necessary tools and a lift. I really want to do most of the work myself.. All the things I have done to my wrx have been self installed and or upgraded... I'd like to stay that way but I do know a tuner who would help... The same place I go for my subie... Kinetic motor works in hampstead, NH. Any advice at this point would be extremely helpful.

Welcome.

Might want to think about upgrading before it dies. Might be waiting a while, most of these run forever. If taken care of these damn things run forever. My old roomate has over 400k on his DD accord and it is still running like a top.

Just curious....you park the all wheel drive car in the winter? I would kill for an all wheel drive car in the winter. That is what they are best at. Those things are a blast in the snow.

I'm not afraid of cost, life is too short to not have fun. I'm not rich by any means and work pay check to pay check... But it's a hobby =)

Over 400k is pretty impressive!! And yes I do park the Rex in the winter... I bought it brand new and I want to keep it new. I have a jeep I drive in the winter =). I get a lot of s**t from a lot of people for not driving my all wheel drive car in the winter lol but I don't care. Have you ever taken a corner in an all wheel drive car before? It's a blast... I bought that car for overall performance not for winter intent. I love that car and will never get rid of it, so I want it to last as long as it can!

there is no specfic tool to tune a honda
hondata is a tunning program such as chrome neptune
you can add intake header exhaust undrive pulleys intake manifold different throttle bodyhigh flow cat or test pipe and some other things without having to tune it. You dont have to tune it for those things, but you could if you wanted too.
you have to tune it when you get into turbo builds and everything that goes with it and some NA builds depending on whats upgraded

Just could not stand doing work on a subaru. Had to help my buddy out with his lgt so much already. Their is no room with that oversized boxer engine.
