Heres one for you friggin gearheads, on any nice cold morning (usually below about 30 degrees farenheit) when i start my baby in the morning to warm up for work immediately after starting is a loud metallic grinding type noise when the clutch pedal is realeased, ONLY AFTER COLD STARTS DOES THIS HAPPEN. Is this an early sign of bad clutch wear? WOuld love to hear what you guys got on this one.

No One has anything for me on this?.. Ok i guess ill just not even bother posting stuff, prolly just delete my account. Thought this was a civic forum where other civic owners would help eachother out a little bit. Oh well thanks for no help anyways.

Wow ok problem here is not to many people with 8th gens. I have one myself but have not done much research. Hell i think i have a rock stuck in my brakes for the loud noise i hear in reverse. Now then have you checked on the 8th gen forums or have you even tried researching your problem period rather than just posting here and bitching because of no response.

Mr. Redline, please understand that i am not butthurt, i was under the impression that some one would have something, anything on this. Suggestions on what trouble shooting steps even would be great. Yes I have researched quite alot about this, having an extended warranty (cuz when you buy brand new you might as well spend an extra 250$ to get 3 extra years on your warranty) I have brought this car into the dealer multiple times, the noise will only recreate when the engine sits over night in the cold and is completely cold. Once again i have done lots of research on this and am getting no where. So i thought i would join a Civic forum and see if there were anybody that is helpful out there. And apparently this is just like any other forum where if you post something does not like you get belittled and F***ED with for just wanting some help. Look i had this post up for over a week and no one even made 1 suggestion. But when i complain i do not get any help i just get belittled and treated like a moron. I did not serve my country in the USMC to be treated like s**t. So carry on with your nonsense was just looking for help.

A marine should be less of a crybaby.Just saying. take it to a different dealership since you have a warranty and let them see what is going on.

most people here have 4th-6th gens. 9th gen are uncharted for most.

whoa changed your tone real quick like

Lol you think just because I am a Marine that means I cannot take offense to someone just being a bully to be a bully? I might not be the smartest person in the world, but i know an a*****e when i see one, and you definitely fit the bill on that one. And futhermore I have this cool thing called a Job ( maybe you should look into this ) and am unable to drive the extra hour out of my way to take it to a different dealership. I do appreciate the minute amount of advice, but it just does not make financial/time/any sense at all.

Wow ok im sorry but i understand somewhat of what you are taljing about being a vet taking s**t but this is still the internet where people s**t talk. The internet is for porn then everything else. I suggest get on the 8th gen site. If need be let me know and i can send you a link. The reason for no reply is no one knew the answer and all we could do is to search the same way you did. Make a video post it on youtube. See why the shop obviously have not fixed the problem. If they say they fixed it then they are morons who deserve a good skull f**k.

yes please!

Please do send a link to the 8th gen site that would be beneficial, I understand were you are coming from with the internet being for people to talk s**t, and in any other forum i would agree with you, but in the Club Civic 8th gen technical forum i did not expect people to be such douches if you know what i mean. Oh well no worries ill just keep having the dealership R+R stuff until they figure it out i guess

I saw this post before but didn't respond because it's hard to know what you're talking about in the op. Where does the sound seem to be coming from?

Pinpointing the noise is difficult.

I cannot pinpoint the noise, but it seems to come from right in front of the damn head unit for the stereo, and it seems to only happen when it is dark out because of the blackness of my car i think the sun warms it up enough to keep the noise from happening. I am hoping it has something to do with my compressor because i can definitely hear the compressor bearing or something grinding when the heat/A/C is on, i told the dealer ship about this and they replaced the clutch on the compressor, but did no further trouble shooting, i work at the dealership and am kinda perturbed by the laziness of the technician.

Just say f**k it, and wait untill something breaks. Then you have found your problem.. It's that simple.
