Hello, i have a 96 civic with a B16A2 swap. (usdm Block with a JDM head) I believe the head is a year 93 have to double check but i know its a jdm head. Im having some starting issues when i try to start the car. At first i thought it was my main relay that was going bad but i replaced it with a new one and i am still having the same issues all fuses are fine.

I noticed that i have to wait about 5-7 seconds for the fuel pump to prime after turning the key on. if i don't wait it wont start, i have to wait till the engine light comes on and off. I also notice that sometimes when the car is cold i can start the engine fine on the first try. When it is warm it takes longer to start.

Is the ect sensor going bad? if so were can i obtain one for my b16 head is a jdm head.

Chipped to what and by whom? Should be chipped to P30. Has it been like this ever since the swap or is this recent?

Not sure, i bought the car with the swap already. All i know is that the swap was in a CRX before with an msd ignition. What i notice is that i can only rev the engine up to 4000rpm when its on neutral

So it actually does run?And when it actually turns on and runs, does it run well to redline? How is your battery, battery terminals, and grounds? I had an issue this past summer with an EE2 of mine acting really strange. Checked all sorts of stuff and spent a good week pulling my hair out over it. Turns out it was a loose battery terminal. Once I tightened it down and gave it a good charge, it ran like nobody's business. I always check the easy stuff first but... I guess I figured terminals to be too easy and just skipped it all together. Lesson learned.

Yes it runs fine when its turn on. Battery, terminals, and wire are new. Ground is also secured. I read somewhere that maybe a loose ground for the ECU might be the issue. How many grounds are there for the ECU? i know the the ground that by the thermo housing is one of them, that one is also secured.

Ill double check the battry terminals.
