Cluster lights suck...

First time in forever I started driving my civic again, and at night. Having owned a fair deal of new cars, with bright clusters, and lit needles. I felt blind, looking at the civic cluster. The 2 over heads were burnt out, and one to the very far left of the cluster. I could really only see the needle by the shadow it made. So I fixed that tonight... I was looking at LED mods and this and that, all seemed like a lot of effort for a ok lighting.

So I just did a ghetto fix and now I can see clear as day..
This was before.....

I changed the upper bulbs and removed the light filter.

That's at full bright.

Now to unplug that SRS light again, and maybe change the color of the top lights.

You can replace those upper bulbs with LEDs and make them even brighter...

Or you can order some LED bulbs and go for this look:

i'm not sure what's wrong with my top lights but they won't come on at all even after I change them. The left one used to work untilI took it out and then when I put it back in it stopped

What does?
The upper filter being removed and the giant wash of light. At night you are not supposed to have something like that in front of your face it will be harder for your eyes to adjust at night. Plus it looks like complete hell

It's really not as bad as you think, but I get what you're saying. That's why I replaced my light filter and went for the backlit-LED look

Yeah its not that bad, and if you read at the bottom of the pic, that was at the full bright setting. I sanded the paint off the filter, and used some really light coats of trans cobalt-blue airbrush paint on it, going to try that later and see how that looks, Should still produce a ton more light, but have a cooler light output.

You people are crazy. I like being able to not see my gauges at night. Less distracting
