Timing belt broke????

Hey all, i'm back again! This time with bad news.

I was just out with my friends on our way to go to the movies. I drove literally 10 mph down my road and then boom. Car just goes silent? The battery and gas light turned on? and i was coasting. The sound was so silent i didn't hear anything. I literally felt like i stalled out while i was coasting in 2nd gear going 10mph.

If that is my timing belt that went, i know its horrible and most likely damaging to the engine to be driving and have the timing belt go. does it matter how fast you're going when the timing belt goes to damage your engine?

But i was only going 10mph do you think it may have caused enough damage to have to replace the engine? I'm bringing it to a buddy of mine tomorrow to take a look at it.

additional info: I replaced my battery and decided to jump start my car anyways and still nothing. The starter sounds like its clicking but theres no catch.

mine snapped on my old eg with the z6 in it due to the water pump freezing up. replaced the pump and the belt no damage to the motor. and i was at like 6k rpm when mine broke. what motor you have in there

its a d16y8 and i was going about 2k rpm coasting

Find out why it broke and then replace the belt. Should have no internal damage unless that's why it broke

thanks bro. but idk if its even the timing belt that went. Everything else seems solid so i'm guessing it has to be the timing belt for the car not to start. but then again it was extremely cold today here in NY. but idk if cold weather could make your car just dead stop like that while your running. I have about 100,506 miles on the engine.
