Problem:

Hey guys, so I installed the alarm today and everything went fine. it was almost time to clean up and we tested out the alarm and there was a problem. When the alarm goes off, there's no way to stop it with the remote. There is one wire called the Negative instant wire that we don't know what to connect to. I believe it connects to the trunk pin wire but does anyone have any idea where that is located? Any suggestions will help. Everything else is functional. It's just the alarm doesn't shut up when we hit the lock button. The alarm is an ENCORE E3.

If that wire is the instant trigger wire then yes you'll need to connect it to the trunk wire. As for the alarm not turning off I hope you were using the unlock button to try to stop it, other than that I have a viper alarm so I can't give you specifics.

For some reason, we grounded the negative instant wire and it works. And yes I meant unlock button. Soo everything works BUT we decided to shorten the wires and now the whole thing is just dead. Any idea why that happened? Does shortening wires cause any harm?

Shortening wires doesn't hurt anything. Check your connections, something wasn't plugged back in or isn't wired now.
