I just picked up part of a turbo kit with a Garrett turbo. I need some help decoding the turbo and give some opinions on what a good setup would be for my d15b7

Well those pics didnt help, but it looks like you have an ebay kit with a garrett turbo replacement. Probably a small framed garret. Make sure it doesnt have any shaft play.

a good quality 38mm should do just fine, I lean more towards using a larger wastegate for lower boost levels but really any good brand will just be fine

Dont do that FMU s**t, get a larger pump and some 390cc injectors and find a good tuner near you, also will need a chipped ecu. Also, just because there is no shaft play doesnt mean it is good, watch for the seals leaking, best way to check that is to pull the turbine housing and the heat shield around the thrust bearing for lots of oil or built up carbon.
