Im needing advice in getting a push or pull electric fan. So I know one pushes and other pulls the air but what is the differences. Does one or the other add any power. Which one do I need? I have a d16y8 with just bolt ons I/H/E . I plan on adding a better flowing radiator and also a electric fan. So any advice on a good radiator and fan and how are ebay and amazon parts? Thanks for any help

Push fans push air, pull type pull air... Lol.
Normally if the fan is on the bumper side it's a push type, if its on the motor side it pulls. The reason it matters is because the wrong fan will fight the wind coming in to bumper and could end up in a stalemate, that could lead to overheating issues.

Unless you have some sort of over heating issues don't waste the money. The car has to reach a certain temp for it to operate correctly and go into closed loop.

No radiator fan will give you power...just get a slim fan off ebay and either mount it upfront or behind the radiator and make sure to wire it correctly depending on where you put it

To add, straight blade fans can just be wired in reverse to spin backwards. (Positive to stock neg. Neg to stock positive wire) I have been running thi sset-up on my Civic for a few year now with no problems. Makes the bay look more tucked. I had to do it since my slave bleeder is about 5 mm from my radiator core.

Pics are semi old, dont mind the zip ties and rigged coolant tank that I used.

Curved blade fans must be disassembled and the blade flipped around. No wiring changes to my knowledge.

LOL at power being added from a fan. If the new fan is lighter than the stock set-up that can be viewed as a plus if you want speed.

fixed

replacing a belt driven fan on something like a small block chevy engine can save a microscopic amount of power.

but like people said on a civic since it's electric to begin with it wont do anything. depending on which side of the radiator your fan sits will determine which way the fan will need to spin. you wont want it trying to fight air coming into the car from the front openings.
