hey guys, im currently planning on buying a new exhaust system for my car which is a 2000 honda civic EX (Manual). At the moment i have a Greddy exhaust im pretty sure its an EVO im not 100% certain bc im somewhat new to this but... its ridiculously loud and is annoying half of the time since its my daily driver. Anyone have any suggestions or tips on exhausts? something thats not that loud but still sounds nice(I don't want a stock exhaust).

These are pretty much the silent options. A side from going custom.

And megan has a WSII version out now also, that's around $350.

If you dont have a cat every exhaust is going to be louder then normal. You could also go to an exhaust shop and have them add a resonator to your current exhaust, it will knock the tone down a little.

You could also sell your exhaust to me, I'm in the market... lol I'm not looking to spend big money on an exhaust for this car, so I might just get a Yonaka. I have a eBay fart cart on mine the last owner installed.

I've heard a little here and there about the Yonaka exhausts are they worth buying or no? bc thats what i was gonna go with but it seems like for the price it won't last that long. Annd i might consider selling it after i get my new exhaust on my car(not sure when that will be).

Only worry I have with them and all the eBay crap is the thin little tig welds that hold everything together. They'll probably crack after a while.

I have had a yonaka for about 10k miles and no problems. IMO the 4" tip is a little overkill but its real quiet and fitment is perfect.

the yonaka is great. and your z6 doesn't make enough power to worry with

I think that settles it and I'm gonna go with the Yonaka exhaust, is there anything else i would need besides that?

Since you already have an exhaust why not just buy a muffler and have a flange welded onto it to bolt up to the axle back part? I would recommend vibrant street performance muffler

That was a thought but I'm too lazy lol and plus i was gonna sell it for some money since i need some extra cash. But you never know i could end up changing my mind.

I bought a Yonaka for my 1998 Civic EX and the mid pipe is incorrect and rattles against the car. This upsets me very much because I read a ton of reviews talking about perfect fit! Maybe they just sent the wrong mid pipe but either way its going to cost me more money and be a huge hassle! Anybody else have this issue I would love to hear your story? Thanks

selling your old exhaust would basically be recouping your costs for the new exhaust which you would probably still be using a little out of your pocket. here is a clip of my exhaust just for reference, im sure the turbo quiets it down a little more than a stock civic but you get the point http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuStNj7N0Tk

I suggest you further research Yonaka exhausts and other options. Ive previously found several reviews stating Yonaka's installed longer that a year or so developed rust & multiple exhaust leaks in various weather conditions. I dont have any other brands to recommend in part because I installed a '02 RSX Type-S muffler on my Civic HX.

^^Ya the yonaka isn't the best quality, but its the best $250 catback you will find.

^^Hmm your probably right, are there any exhaust systems that you would recommend maybe around the $400-$600 price range? This isn't turning into an easy decision haha.

Or if you could find an RSR ExMag....

Or you could also buy some piping and a muffler and have one custom made. Mine ended up being that way and I'm extremely happy. And it's not super expensive. As long as you figure out a good set-up and stick with a good diameter, its legit.

^^U turbo'd yet? I haven't really kept up on your thread.
Trying to schedule a time to get the downpipe made. The guy has been SUPER busy.

Quiet with a nice sound, can't go wrong with an Apexi World Sport 2 or Apexi Noir, both sound amazing.
