New to Honda's and a new civic owner

As the title says I'm new to Honda's and I have just purchased a 1998 civic lx 4 door , body has around 140k on it and in was told the replaced the motor and it has 70k on it, it's been sitting for couple years and it has signs of it, mice have chewed through a few wire in the wire harnesses for the one low beam and one high beam on each headlight, and the wires for the foglights, think those are the only things that are effected by the bad wires. Starts up and drives flawlessly, interior is clean with a few.stains on the front carpets. I think this was a decent purchase for 1500.

Looking to do swap later on after my daughter is born in April and has everything she needs for awhile.

It has a wing that is going to come off, and decals down the side that will be coming off as well, thinking about changing out the halo projectors as well, along with the big tach.

yes please save this car........take wing off....replace front and rear lights back to oem.......take the stickers off put some nice wheels on it and drop it

you should do something different and rare that is cheap and simple and people would really enjoy heres a little info on the 4 door game acura makes a civic that is called the acura el .......it just looks different in the front and back......the front for these cars are cheap complete front replacement goes for about 500-600 bucks and everything bolts right up to your car the trunks are like 200-300 and it looks nice and is a rare setup.....you can probably get the parts cheaper if you look up the isuzu gemini....same car honda just sold them to isuzu ......like toyota corolla = geo prizm.............


what does everyone think should he do el conversion I DO........

I like the look of the el conversion, and ya that was another thing I was gonna do was the exhaust, I think it has a drop on it already...at least it seems like it.

Still new to the Honda stuff, would I be able to swap in and not have to do a whole lot of modifying under the hood.
I've searched and got real confused quick lol.

defiantly IMO take the decals wing and lights off
take out the tach and unless you really like it i would paint the interior pieces back the way they should be
if there isnt a tach in the cluster you can get an ex one with a tach in it that will plug right in

depends on what swap you want to do
if you stick to d series or do a mini me swap then you have to change alot less , but still have to change things
anything other than d series gets more complex and more things have to be changed
in all honestly do alot of research before you attempt to do any kind of swap with still being new and having these types of questions you should not attempt to swap it untill you do alot of reasearch and figure out exactly what swap you want your budget what you want out of the swap etc

swap what an engine or the front end as far as the engine goes you can swap mostly any motor in there that you want from the honda comunity....i personally think you should work on looks first learn the game and then play with performance.....but any acura integra motor and civic si motor will bolt right up to your car just need the right info before you do the swap

The interior pannels are the stock color but has blue stickers instead of paint lol.

This car has been done up like this for 6 or so years when the wings and decals where popular lol, the guy that owned it moved out of state a couple years ago and its been sitting at his dad's since till he made him get rid of it.

I'm still doing a lot of research on the engine and performance end, what I've got set in my mind is more hp but still eco friendly since I have to drive 30 miles to work and this will be my family car till my wife gets her car next year.

Here soon I'm getting a new trunk lid, trunk carpet and panels(non existent right now) wiring harness for the headlight since mice got to them, unless I can splice new wires in to the rest of the existing wires, tires, headlights, and exhaus.

well a b series is a direct bolt on as long as you have all the corresponding parts...no aftermarket parts are really needed.......just like my hatch......lets say he bought a crashed 98 integra everything he needs is a direct bolt on motor mounts from the d series on the ls motor integra motor ......tranny...axles.... shift linkage....engine harness....and computer ......conecct everything back up and start simple and clean......it becomes probamatic when you start trying to add vtec to the situation thats when you have to think ahead......my car was plug n play everything from a 96 integra ls into a 96 hatch.....but wired with a 96 ex harness so that if i ever wanted to go vtec its already there.......................


but i understand where your coming from that is why i told hom to do cosmetics before jumoing into the engine game..................


i say do el or gemini conversion and learn about the game .......especiually if your going to be a daddy................trust me i have a three year old and nothings harder then trying to buy parts for your baby....and pampers for the other........even worse if they dont breat feed that f**king formula milk is like buy race fuel.......................lol

i know he dosent need aftermarket parts, but he needs everything you listed plus there is usally always little misc stuff needed for swaps.
but almost nobody especially someone who dosent know what it takes to swap one is going to buy a wrecked car or probably even a complete swap they are going to buy just the motor or amybe the motor and tranny then need the rest
and i have a 4 month old and hes right about the formula got 6 cans of it yesyerday it was 88 dollars

s**t kids never get any cheaper, once the formula ends, its on to something else, then when they eat regular s**t, you have to buy toys, clothes etc, its a never ending battle.

hope the baby wants it for your walets sake.....my son didnt like the breast milk he would drink it then puke for like two days after he was born they suggested the formula and as soon as we put the bottle to his mouth thats when he started drinking my money...lol.....but good look with the car and your new baby........bout to go to sleep its 12:23 in the morning over here
