broken front lip fix

So as I was driving home from school the other day for a week break I was trying to pass a big rig and hit some slush and the car started spinning all over the road. I then preceded to climb a 4 foot snow bank and land back on the highway facing oncoming traffic. This all happened within the first 30 mins of my 4 hour trip home... The worst that happened was broke my mugen rep front lip and spilled my freshly opened monster :( anyway Iv got the lip zip tied back together and I'm debating on duck taping it with some sort of printed duck tape but I'v heard bad things about doing that. I know it won't come off clean if I ever want to take it off but I think if it comes down to that I'll just buy a new lip. What do you guys think?

I could just rock it as is but I'm not sure how I'll like it with the pieces missing. If I do tape it all up I could tape over the spots where pieces are missing. I'm not even sure what designs are out there for duck tape but I'm sure theres plenty to choose from

Get a new one they are dirt cheap but that is why it broke, its cheap plastic. From the looks of the lip it wasnt even painted lol so spend 50 bucks on a new one

There is physically no way to fix that and I have never seen anyone use any kind of tape but us professionals in the auto body industry do things the right way, just pick up a new one its toast.

No your right it wasn't painted and I do plan on getting a new one once my work study checks start coming in but for the meantime Im going to rig this one. After having it on for so long I hate how it looks without it now

Back in the day I had a similar mugen replica lip and it shattered when I was forced off the road, had an OEM SI lip since then and never one issue, ran over a chunk of wood in the road and just messed up the paint. So you get what you pay for but I do know the hassle as Ive been there myself.

My mugen replica lip cracked too, I just used jb weld to repair it and sanded it down to smooth it out. However, because the polyurethane is so flexible, the repaired points will be the lips sort of "Achilles heel". For $50, get a new one, or save your money and get an OEM 99-00 lip (looks much cleaner)

got some checker print duct tape and decided to go to town with it. Made the whole front lip checker and did 2 small pieces inside the car to kinda tie it together

hopefully the weather allows me to put this stuff back on the car tomorrow

Duck tape is about as ghetto as you can get lol. It doesn't weather well, so be ready to buy some goo gone.

not feeling the checkered stuff at all, looks just thrown on there, isnt straight at all and just looks out of place. Would have just waited and got another lip...

Well it looks better in person but its not just slapped on there I spent some good time on it. I know your not bashin the work but rather the design but I personally like it and itll work until I get the new lip which may be awhile and it wouldn't make sense to put the new one on until spring anyway

I think its neat looking to be honest haha. I thought of doing headboard checkered then i realized i would go insane. The op already has stated he will get a new lip when he can. Its either go without lip or with lip he has. I think atleast the tape will throw ppl off for looking at the damage. Good job
