Had to replace my radiator because the seal around the top busted. Now it wont get to temp or it takes a really long time to get there and then would go up and down everyhing was fine before could the stat go bad that quick in just swapping the rad?

I didn't switch the thermostat because nothing was wrong with it and the coolant was brand new looking when I drained it. I usually always change the thermo when I change the rad but didn't this time cause I was rushing and pressed for time. After seeing the fluid I thought I would be ok with it being so clean .

I would do it then just to see. It's a 8 dollar part and it's super easy.

That's what I was thinking, now a ? is the thermo on the lower hose right not the upper hose? And is there a trick to not spilling fluid everywhere when taking the hose off.

Without looking at it, I thought it was on the upper?

Its a hx which I think is the y5 not sure. I had the new thermo and looking at it and the gasket it couldn't fit on the upper but sure looks like it goes to the lower hose by the starter and stuff the long.hose?

the thermostat is located at the end of the lower radiator hose. By the starter. Since you have a new thermostat, I would just install it.

Thanks guys going to change the thermo anyways cause I thought it just had air but is still doing it. Another ? is there a bleeder valve on this engine I've looked and found nothing but not sure what to look for, if it's on the upper or lower hose.
