What kind of steering wheel setup are you planning on getting?
I'm getting a simple black leather with red stitch 350mm Momo wheel. I'm still up in the air on if I'm gonna go with NRG or Works Bell. But I'll be purchasing a setup some time next month. I'm working some OT to save up for it.

Yes the smaller the number the smaller the wheel. I'm not sure on the size of OEM. I already have a wheel in my garage that a friend gave me but I don't like how small it is. I'm assuming its 320mm so I'll be going with 350mm

Edit: Stock wheels are around 370mm. The ITR comes with a 350mm. 350 is better for cars with No PS. 320mm is good for more precision when steering at higher speeds. But it really comes down to diver preference

Ballers and your works bell hubs! Those things cost more than the wheels I just ordered!

yea it is costly but I do like the ease of install and the different variety of locks and keys for the hub lock that works bell offers. People say nrg has less combinations of keys for their hub lock which makes it easier for someone to find a key that fits.

Okay so I want a short hub with this setup. It looks like I can use either works bell for $170 or Nrg for $95. I'm assuming you can use the Nrg hub with a Works Quick release since you can use a Momo hub with a Nrg Quick release as well as with the works quick release. So why shouldn't it work? I'm not saying I'm using this combo just try see what my options are versus the cost of the setup. Thoughts?

That sounds like it would work
Just tryna think of how I can bring the cost down. If I get everything works bell with the Momo wheel I want I'm looking at about $800 bucks if I go through Evasive Motorsports. It's about $340 for the quick release, $170 for the short hub, $170 for the wheel, $120 for the hub lock. But this is works bell we are taking about. They invented the quick release system.

Oh yes indeed. I know the works bell is far superior to the nrg quick release, and has many benefits. I guess if your really wanting it you will have to decide if you'd rather save and get the authentic quick release, or save some bucks and go with the economy model  its really up to you and your preferences for your car. I haven't read anywhere that the nrg one is bad, but only how much better the works is in comparison. It's a tough call if your trying to stay on a budget, and ultimately its purely your decision. I'm problably going with the nrg set up and a personal wheel when I get around to it.

Yea I would love to get the works bell but 800 is a lot. Idk ill see how my overtime goes. But it's gonna be hard to justify spending that much. I could get my type s tranny or type s cylinder head for that amount.

NRG setups are fine and seem to work well. I will tell you that I agree with mymmeryloss when he says there isn't anything wrong with the NRG steups. Just all comes down to preference. NRG is more used among daily driven cars so you are more than likely going to hear more about them, pros and cons, than the high dollar part.

the patent is regarding the ball bearing setup they use. Quick releases have been around for ages (mostly for high end racing for safety and entering/exiting the vehicle)
