Headlight bulb replacement

Hey, I've been looking to replace my headlight bulbs because they don't seem to be bright enough for me and I know that the main bulb acts as both the high and low beams. I want to replace them with LED or Xenons, but do they have this functionality? or can they only emit that one brightness?

here are the links to the bulbs I'm looking at:

thanks

If you want hid then I suggest doing a Retro fit. If you want to stay will halogen hella makes some good ones. I forgot the exact ones I bought but they where like $60 for the pair

If you're looking for an off the shelf quality bulb I've had really good luck with silverstars. You can buy them at any autopart store. Run about 30-40 for a set, but they're really good. I believe they hold a year warranty as well.

DO NOT use the L.E.D. for your main headlight bulbs. They are for fog light and day time running light ONLY.

SilverStars are decent. They are a little brighter than your cheap cheap OE replacement bulbs and they appear to look more white/blue due to the coating on the bulb itself. I've read bulb coatings decrease the life of the bulb.

I personally recommend Osram Night Breakers (rated at 90% more light than a standard bulb) or Philips X-treme Vision (rated at 100% more light). I used to have Philips Xtreme Power bulbs (before the Visions came out I think) and I was very satisfied with them.

If you want to get HID's, do a retrofit. Plain and simple.

Retro fitting is doing hids the right way. Retro fighting is adding a hid projector to your heaflights

Is retro fitting different from just installing hid's?
Yes. Retrofitting requires you to take apart your headlights, install projectors, then put your headlights back together.

There are various routes you can take, depending on your budget, goals, and how easy of an installation you want. They sell "plug and play" projector kits that run $3-300 (which is what I have but are on par with even factory HID systems in cars). They literally just "bolt in" your headlight. Or you can buy other OEM projectors like Acura TSX/TL which require custom work to be able to mount them in the headlight. Since your stock bulb is an H4, you'd need bi-xenon projectors to be able to keep high beams.

Here's a sticky I made regarding PnP vs. Retrofit: http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=208090

And here's a How-To I wrote on how to install the projectors I have: http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=206263
