Places to ground amp in 2004 civic LX

Been reading a lot on this forum, finally decided to register to ask this.

Have a 2004 Civic LX, and I'm putting a small system in it. I'm wondering where all of you with systems grounded your amp, and if you can, provide pictures. I've heard "Under the rear seat bolt" but I don't know how to access that. Also keep in mind my ground cable is about 1 feet long, and i'm planning on keeping my amp in the trunk.

I've included a picture of where I was thinking of grounding it, but I'm really not sure if that will work or not if I threw a bolt on it. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/connorstallings/IMG_20130302_135722.jpg (This is with the back seat down, and I'm in the trunk)

Again, pictures or detailed descriptions are what I'm looking for. Just wanna do it right is all.

Thanks guys

Keep the ground close and just ground it to sheetmetal or to a preexisting hole...

I forget where I grounded mine but I do remember the bolt i used was already there in the trunk area behind the carpet to trim

I ground mine on the strut mount. You want to keep the ground a foot long or less.

So you're saying it was under the trunk? Like near the wheel well? Can't seem to find any bolts down there. Wish there was some sort of diagram or some sort of listing of all the parts in the civic that were connect to the chassis.

Just use the seat mount. You are thinking into this waaaayyyy to hard. Civics are a unibody. The floor IS the chassis.

This civic is brand new to me. Where are the seat mounts and can they be used by a 1 foot piece of grounding wire?

Find out where the seat mounts to the floor. That is the seat mount...

To be honest, this is extremely easy, you are making it way to hard. Crimp a ring terminal on the end of the wire, take a self tapping screw, and drill into the floor.

Drilling into the floor was the last thing I wanted to do. Could I put a self tapping screw into the one of the holes in the trunk that i posted in the picture?

its where you seat turns into floor... anyways if you put your amp under your chair you would only need a few inches and have a wire like this at one end for the bracket to sit over and the screw to go through it http://www.dearbornclassics.com/59-64-galaxie-engine-ground-wire.html
thats how I have mine done
I'm wanting to put it in the trunk, not under the seat. Thanks though!

Don't know. Your picture doesn't show up on my end.

Just find an existing bolt. I guarantee there are ones in the area you need. You just have to look harder. If you are mounting the amp on the back of the rear seat there is at LEAST 4 bolts that secure it to the floor. ANY of those would work. As mentioned the shock tower bolt would work as well.

The point of a self tapping screw is to make it's own hole. Defeats the purpose if there is already a hole...
